Never had a red sloped chick feeder. On a first time having baby chicks in 2017 we got your blue chick feeder (& waterer in green) which were nice for wee chicks but by 4 weeks were too small to use for juveniles. However for 2 more times when we had babies the feeder/waterer was great ~ just kinda flimsy for bigger chicks.

2021 ~ 2 Silkie chicks w/ same feeder & waterer but by this 3rd time using the feeder the inserted feed divider was warped & wouldnt fit to stay securely so we tossed the insert. The waterer was more sturdy-built than the feeder for us but we did like these models for babies ~ they can't drown in the low level waterer & didnt stand on the feed to poop on it.

Our last batch of chicks we got the Rent-a-Coop chick port feeder & chick nipple waterer which were also nice. My motto: use whatever works for you☺️

As I said if I could toss them under the broodies I would have.
Now that I know they can get them in I will make sure next to read up on them and maybe get a couple.
May I ~ cautiously ~ recommend at least THREE guinea chicks in case one dies you'll still have at least a pair to pal around together. ` `

Maybe the eggs are up in a tree or your loft⁉️
Found a new hiding spot, under the back nest box enclosed now when I fitted Whiskers brooding pen. The eggs are fresh they weren’t there Sunday.

But they were a pain to get at.

I try to keep them on a tight leash with laying eggs. Of course there are lots of good hiding spots in the barn!

Are the new chickies sexed?

Yes all pullets. I only purchase pullets, and only buy were I can get ones that are sexed.

They are very sweet, Holly is a good mama, and of course Georgie is a good mama 😊

I had them roaming about this morning and again this afternoon. They are really doing well, they are bonded with their mamas.

This weekend I will let them outside for a bit, supposed to be stinking hot again so I don’t want them or the mamas to be stressed.

Showgirl?
My showgirl eggs that hatched all have feathered necks, must have heard the rude thing my husband called them and grew some feathers just to be safe...

You only get one choice 😊

My two girl? Guineas. The darkest one lays down a lot which is apparently what males do to keep watch. These two CRIMINALS have been trying the wild bird feeders and going up on the roof.

The rest like the front yard, especially this amazing ramp they can use for all sorts of activities.

Oh boy one thing I didn’t think of with the Guinea’s I almost got - what if they were both males?!

Just as well I didn’t get them!
