Old Red has passed away, I am rather relieved, poor old girl. Now the only hen of my BIL’s left is Raven. She seems hearty and hale so far.

Blanche is also the same age I would say, she is moulting at the moment.

And it’s been just pelting down rain all afternoon, I had hoped it would stop but it’s now 7PM and still pelting down. I need to bury the old girl, I guess she isn’t going anywhere and can wait until tomorrow. But I wanted to put her to her final rest.

Sleeping Alone

Niamh continues to separate from Nimue at bed time. Nimue goes into the Cluckle Hut to sleep, and Niamh...............

Our Ginny went thru a few weeks of not going into the coop unless she was carried into the pen. We ignored her a few nights & now she's heading for the coop on her own finally. What changed? we haven't got a CLUE

Put their favourite outside roosts away for a bit then bring them out a week or so later after they learn to coop roost? We had to remove the giant push broom out of the side porch cuz our Keiko loves to find convenient perches or dawdles before going into the coop to roost.

I could put the chairs away but the grape vines will always be there. I think I may need to lock them in the run so they have no other choice.

Mine LOVE the soaked layer mash, brats! They also are eating the textured feed and their starter feed.

I have a 20kg bag of it but I’ll mix it with the layer mash.

Mine love mash too!
