yeah, said duckling is a mallard. I'm not exactly sure on the legality of raising it since it was hatched in the wild. I do know many people locally have and raise mallards around here.

My luck, raising that duckling is illegal and if anyone would get in trouble for it I would be the one. Another big reason I decided against bringing it home. Now as far as getting the duckling a friend, I give it a month and she will have at least one more duck and an entirely new enclosure built for the ducks. Betty is just like that. She started with 1 goat someone gave her, that quickly rose to I think she has 15 now counting this years babies. Last fall she caught the other Rooster who was dropped off at the barn. He needed friends and I gave her Karen and someone else gave her a black hen around the same time. Well, Karen hatched 2 chicks that she kept, she got 4 silkies from me and now the chickens have a palace and she has 12 total. All that along with 15 horses and 1 donkey in the barn and she is not sure of the number of cats she is feeding. Howard the duck may no longer be a wild duck, but, he is definitely in good hands so to speak.

Well, they might want to research what some of the local Mallard breeders and hatcheries/stores do to mark their tame Mallards and copy it. The sooner the better in case it is removing the rear toe, which I assume is easier the younger the duck is.

Thanks. They really are little princesses, and even smaller than my silkies. I think Belle and Beauty ended up being perfect names for them.

Well, torture, no therapy sessions begin Wednesday morning. I have dreaded the therapy part more than the surgery. It must be done though.

Well, after all, PT does stand for Pain and Torture. I know that is how it felt sometimes after I shattered my ankle and had surgery. But I wish I had tried even harder to do my home exercises more often. Got most of my range of motion back but not all, and still have more discomfort than I would like. So will definitely be sending positive healing thoughts your way.

Black is my absolute favorite color among the chickens, silkies included.

By the way, both of my white silkie pullets look pretty scraggly, but one is laying now and the other feels close to it. And none of them have wattles even a tenth the size of Cotton, who started crowing around 8-10 weeks I think.

I can’t even get a pizza order delivered. And I think the new Little Cesar’s pizza commercial is their best one yet. Pizza, pizza!

You silly guy... Rebecca's Kentucky is not a common Russian destination... all my Russian relatives are in Calif, Oregon, or Idaho. I have 2nd generation cousins who moved to AustraliaMost of them were farmers originally in the early 1900's.

Does Amazon deliver to you? We ordered a grocery item from a Ralph's supermarket & they used Amazon to deliver the order .
