I put large stone around my palms in their pots. Otherwise I wouldn’t have dirt left in them!

Just mild curiosity... are your hens hatchery, Mareks-vaccinated, birds?Thank you Jenn, you're so sweetI'll definitely let you know when we're ready for more chickies.
I am so very egg sorry for your loss. She was a beautiful girl. You did your very best for her, and I honestly believe she was not in any pain when she passed thanks to you.
Let us know how it goes with the dog owner
When I got my silkie chicks back in April, I was sooooo hopeful that at least one of them was a buff. Here is a pic of them then, and some just a few weeks later…

But they have all turned out to be white. Although at times I feel they are just a touch more ivory than white.

Yes, they are. But IMO at least one of mine was definitely more buff/orange than yellow when they were little. That is why I was surprised that they all ended up as white.Aren't all white chickens yellow as chicks?

The orangy ones are "Red" Silkies that will probably turn orange after a season of dirt bathsI like white also
But an orange silkie hen would be really nice and add some splashy colour to the ground.

Not sure if they're vaccinated. They're from a feed store and I wasn't there when they were bought.Just mild curiosity... are your hens hatchery, Mareks-vaccinated, birds?
