All morning I have been separating the two game hens from fighting (to death) over one chicklet who only wants to be with the rest. I called my therapist, she’s not open on Saturday 😔😫I don’t know what to do!! I was supposed to fly to Texas today too! Being a chicken daddy is hard sometimes!:he

Can you put Nacho in a separate pen?

Yes, PC1 has more gold on its body, PC2 is darker.

I really need to get names for all these chicks - I now have 9 babies here, heaven help me! I am all chicked out.

It's to the point where I am going around singing Elvis' song 'I'm all shook up' and changing the words to more appropriate poultry theme 'I'm all chicked out'
🤣

Of course the chooks just look at me like I am cracked!
For someone determined not to get any more this year, your 9 more new chicks sounds like reserved determination to me :lau

Such a handful to have too many chickens but even w/ 2 more birds than I wanted, I couldn't help but smile watching them so happy dustbathing in the rain wet garden bed this morning... 6 perfect holes to choose from☺️

Poor Twister is just not feeling well it seems. I have tried to temp her with some fish which she turned her nose up at.

I gave the fish to Marty who is doing wonderful BTW, I think she is now moulting also, but she has been digging around and acting more normal. The fish went over real well! Even Mr P ate from my hand and he never does that! I was absolutely thrilled he did that. Of course he then have it to the girls - silly boy!

He is starting to look glorious again - another thing I am thrilled about, his topknot growing back.

Hmmmm look who has once again escaped. That Laverne is going to drive me nuts!

Better go drag her butt out of the paddock before she gets hurt by a horse or something.

2 or 20 - it’s all the same here. The worse thing with the chooks is chasing down the escape artists. Otherwise it’s just feed, water, and pick poops. Same as with the horses (their poops are a wee bit bigger!).

I am thinking the silkies are all boys for some reason. So they will be rehomed. The Noirans I am undecided on; I was looking at my flock and I see that my oldest layers are going to be 5 so they will likely not lay much next Spring, I’ll need replacements for them.

Raven and Blanche are 8…? And rarely lay now.

My silkies will be 5 also:
Henny Penny
Fluffy
Curly
Marty

And the barnyard mutts who will be 5:
Whiskers
Misty
Buttercup

These two will be 5 next Oct:
Rose
Dorothy

I have a lot of old ladies here.

Then the 4 yr olds:
Butterscotch
Muffy
Tippy
Eli-too
Little Grey

Kiddos on the porch. :3
Integration is...well it's going haha.
They're impossible to get in the pen at night so everyone just gets to tough it out I guess.

My 6 new run dwellers slept in the ivory coop last night. So we will take apart the triangular quarantine coop and scrap it, it's falling apart. And hubby says the little white coop is moving out there, he doesn't like it being attached to the back porch.
