My pointed finger didn’t work on Aero tonight. She’s last to go in the coop. Usually I just point my finger, and they go in.
What’s good tonight is, everyone is home in the coop even Dakota (I treated her with some pieces of steak) because she stayed put.

Time to Meet the Rest of the Girls

The initial release was a complete disaster. Aster, Lady Featherington, and Sydney invaded and assaulted. At one point Lady Featherington was trying to ride little Joy.

I was forced to physically remove the 3 of them.

Only Aster came back. After several discussions Aster understood my position and has not been chasing them. She will get a peck on if they get too close but it's not malicious like the other 2 were.

One great observation was that anytime Tilly or Joy squawked out. Niamh came running to see what was going on. I love that.

Perhaps their terror at the Bigs will bring them closer together.

The first chance Niamh has to go into the house she took and left her new friends far behind.

After the initial attack and separation, the Phyllistines did enjoy some time by the garden together.

Once the big girls settled into a cracked corn induce torpor, the Phyllistines went under the magnolia tree. I was eventually able to get a photo of all 8 for the first time. Can you find them all?

No…Seeing only seven…if that’s Hattie in the back left (Hattie, LadyF, Aster, Aurora), then I don’t see Sidney…..?

Good evening everyone.

Life has been busy and I am almost 2 weeks and 80 pages behind.

I do have someone special I want to introduce to everyone.

Meet Eggy! Possibly subject to a name change the more I get to know her.

Now, I know she looks rough. She is about 19 months old and has started to go through her first real adult molt. Eggy was given to me by my boss in exchange for Ducky the little silkie with 5 momma's who I raised for her. I received her yesterday when I dropped off Ducky. Eggy is supposed to be a sweet girl. I have left her alone and not pushed myself on her today but she will come eat out of my hand so I do believe she will be sweet when we get to know each other. She did not lay today which does not surprise me given the fact that she is in her molt and changed homes, but she lays a green egg. I honestly would not be surprised if she did not lay again until next spring. I also would not be shocked to go out tomorrow morning and find her bald as she is dropping feathers fast. She had a full tail yesterday. Eggy also has a new bff, she has taken up with Homer and sticks to him like glue. I cannot wait to see her transformation as she comes out of her molt. She looks so much like Owly that when Betty offered the trade I could not pass her up.

😆 Hattie must have ducked behind Aurora. There's only 7! 🤦‍♂️

Here she is a few seconds later after Aster left! How long until I can get 8 in a photo?
