Brown and crispy sounds great for a turkey dinner, but not for my weather five months out of the year ( just saying )At least this time of year. Green and soggy now, brown and crispy when its warm.

They're going to make the guys work for it!There’s no disrespect worse than being ignored. My new ladies show no interest in the two roosters (Rooster Cogburn and Gizmo) or any of their fancy dancing. It’s pathetic that they keep trying. The ladies stand firm, and just walk away when the dancing starts!![]()
Yes it is!!! Good boy!Is this the tidbitting sound? Mr. Chips found leftover scratch grains that I scattered for Piglet while he was locked out to give her some peace.
That is Geronimo looking at her preferred nest box at the end.
I think they’re doing well. I went and gave Taffy medicine a little while ago. The barred rocks weren’t letting them in the coop, and the d’Uccles started chasing the rocks around. At least my chicks aren’t getting pushed around too much. Taffy has scabs under her eyes, and I’m not sure what they are from. My best guess is the barred rocks, since they weren’t there yesterday. How are the chicklets feeling today?
You don't need a Pavloskaya now w/ an orange/black bird already hatched for you!I’ll post a video of him later one you can see his tail well in.
Meanwhile here is a photo, Marty has neck shackle feathers that are gold like Georgie does but not as many.

That is so cute to watch. We feed Greek yogurt often around here... & when a bird is on antibiotics the poops are watery so yogurt daily helps keep the poops firmer.Morning Yogurt
Niamh ended her 7 day course of antibiotics yesterday and ate yogurt for the first time this morning!
She is great. If I put it in front of her, she will at least taste it. She ate all of the yogurt this daintily.
So elusive it took a century+yrs to get just a photo. Still not much info cuz of their private lives... like what is their diet, litter numbers, mating behaviors., etc. Those tails look like tiger tails!Happy Caturday everyone
Éowyn’s Andean relatives caught on camera.
And a bit of the back story here.

& cannot a hidden gene from a chicken's ancestoral history pop up too... like a straight comb bird suddenly pop up after many generations in a rosecomb breed, etc? I mean, they say dogs came from wolves, yet Mastiffs are twice the size of wolves and some Chihuahuas are the size of a teacup? Glad there's someone who has interest in this... These kind of puzzles/if's for me are why I don't follow/study genetics. I never bred birdsI've HAD to do it this way. Hatch chicks, watch development, wait a min! Where did that come from? I though XYZ and ABC were the parents, but that's impossible, so who are the parents?

W/ your genetics interest/expertise w/ plenty of land space, you may eventually create your own breed specialty .. like Nettie Metcalf of Buckeye fameI've HAD to do it this way. Hatch chicks, watch development, wait a min! Where did that come from? I though XYZ and ABC were the parents, but that's impossible, so who are the parents?
I didn't see Cookie? Mr Chips is a looker! Is this the tidbitting sound? Mr. Chips found leftover scratch grains that I scattered for Piglet while he was locked out to give her some peace.
