Do you have shipped eggs? That is also popular over here. Some have good luck doing this.
Yes, but hatch rates can be very variable. This year was really bad for some reason. I will buy eggs through the post but I prefer to collect them myself if possible. When I've bought hatching eggs from Shetland I just combined it with some other things I wanted to do there.

That makes sense, I try to do that with things I do what with the big distance sometimes I have to travel.

My last job I worked out west I tried to bring home chicks (esp SS Hamburgs) but it was just frost of March and no one had chicks or eggs available. Of course now I see those Hamburg at Performance, the question is do I want more chooks?

Maybe I’ll get a couple.

Yes I will see if her hubby wants to get any chicks also. And the guy I get hay from, their kids are chicken mad ♥️ He could likely have Fayoumi as he free ranges and has a heated hen house.

And Sir Surely’s mum. They can definitely get Fayoumi as her hubby built a castle for their chooks with heat and lights 👍 and since they free range, those Fayoumi will likely do really well.

Early days yet so lots of time.
You could drop them a little card asking. Just a thought

Was that a couple of dozen 🤔

Transport/travel tax: a Fayoumi in the snow. When I got up there this morning, she was outside while most of my chonky dual purpose large fowl were hiding in the coops or playing "the floor is lava" (they saw snow this November, no idea why they suddenly decided it was terrifying )

I always love when I have guests with no experience of chickens who get enchanted by them!
We had a delivery driver the other day that was so interested in the chickens, asking about what they were like as pets, if they had individual personalities etc. As she left she said how much she loved that we had them, it was sweet and funny.

Oh no, I’ll just call them - they are all just up the road from me 🥰

Very handy having them all so close by! Sir Surely’s mum might want some chicks, but she has all those she has already hatched! 😉

And the lady I got the silkie eggs from also might want some fresh breeding stock they have polish.

If no one does want any I will see if I can swing getting a few to make up the minimum amt. the problem is there is a 3 chick minimum for each breed. So that puts me at 12 chicks

If Bert’s dada only wants 5 then I am left with the rest
