TY so much for showing me that cutter!!! I watched review videos of 5 different styles & DH & I decided on this one which got the most favorable comments... cutter for smaller circle & smaller size for storing in the drawer. Will let you know how it goes when it gets here from Amazon.

Seems like once we find a small appliance so convenient/useful it's hard to go back to the old ways. My EggGenie is so basic compared to newer steamers but I love it as long as it keeps working.

People want very dark eggs so the silver/black USA clean leg Cuckoo Marans will disappoint, not to mention LRG egg on the smaller side of the weight scale maybe 2x/wk. The Marans dark egg color was #3 for Tish.

Tish's egg ~ it is a somewhat darker brown than an avg brown & we'd be ok w/ Tish if she wasn't such a bully. She fought w/ all her flockmates & refused to assimilate.

Tish was a letdown... but she was a free laying pullet from a neighbor. We gave her back after giving her a long chance to adjust but she was a troublemaker. I think she was happier w/ her own original flock anyway.

I use the claw of a hammer to pull up the step-in tines, and the J-shaped stakes used on the gate bases, that would probably work. We have a couple types of claw hammers and the one I use is medium-curved, not sharply curved.
BTW I got some in-between rods made for the poultry fencing, notches on each end, to hold up the netting in-between each post, and they work well to stop sagging.
Today the sun was out so everyone was soaking it up, dirtbathing, and feeling feisty.

"Aren't I so pretty?"
That's not real. It has to be AI generated. Who would do that to their chickens?

Anyone who raises chickens, knows that look! They will make their wants, plain to hear! Mine get close and grumble real loud. I always ask them “well, what do you want?” They look at me as if to say “Gezz I forgot, never mind!”
Is that an every morning thing for you? It’s sweetGood morning!
If I'm late opening the door. If I have to leave before they want to get up, I crack the door so they can get out when they're ready to. I need to set up for a video that way one of these days.Is that an every morning thing for you? It’s sweet
Never seen a coon or possum around. Haven’t had that issue…yet. I suppose it is a risk, but it would be for the others as well. I understand the concerns.I he safe in there at night? Safe from Coons and Possums…?
You should also be able to buy more of the same rods that came with the fence, as extras.

Fence posts help with sagging? The poultry net fencing comes with the posts integrated into it.
What I have done is purchase temp electric fence posts to place between the posts to help with the sagging.
You’re so nice - I make mine get up at 4:30ameggcept on weekends then it’s 6am. I get to sleep in!
Fence posts help with sagging?I have an idea! Put them under my eyes some mornings.
