Bad Drivers

I resist doing this whenever possible as I want to keep the thread on chickens a much as I can. But this clearly bugged me the other day and so I apologize to everyone in advance but I need to take one last bite of this apple.

I have been keeping track since our little discussion regarding people in expensive sports cars the other day. Since then I have been cut off, and dangerously so, by a Chevy Cruze. Nearly sideswiped by a tractor trailer, I had to take to the shoulder and slam on the brakes, and a mini van of some kind (less dangerous with the mini van). Had one of those huge pickup trucks tailgate me at 75 mph. I mean he was so close I could see the radiator clearly in my mirror.

2 of these instances had the real possibility of a serious accident if I had not been paying attention and been able to react quickly.

I have seen 1 BMW behaving badly. Luckily that moron did not affect me in any way.

First, everyone drive carefully. Please think of others.

To my point, does anyone think maybe we notice the expensive sports cars more because we are predisposed to think of them as jerks?

BFTP: the blue of the chair complements her lavender so well!

I haven’t been outside yet this morning, but I sadly don’t think we got anything more than flurries.
Although, my brother attempted to make an ice rink by filling a huge tarp up with water, so we’ll see if that worked.

Here’s pictures of the snow we got last year. It was absolutely insane. It was more ice than snow, but anything of that sorts is insane in southern GA/ northern FL. (And for tax, there’s a photo of BBQ in the snow before she got sick)

That’s awesome she reminds me of those Lynx photos I have (somewhere). Your snow is really not going anywhere is it? Wish it would warm up to melt it away.
This snow will be here at least through valentines day with this forecast.

I am quite sure there will be help around to clear that mess away 😆

Yep they didn't last long hahaha

After a rainy New Years week, & a couple frosty nights, our recent days have been sunny & pleasant to the point that 3 out of our 4 Silkies think it's spring broody time!

Love this weather... been taking my time pruning the fruit trees. I show DH which 2 or 3 boughs to chainsaw & then I lop & toss all the smaller branches. W/ my broken arm & surgery I neglected pruning our 5 trees for 2 yrs so there's more work than usual to trim them now. Taking my time in this nice weather & enjoying watching the Silkies💕. 2 trees pruned, 3 more to go!

I need to prune my trees, but it's been too cold to do anything.

Set the shrimp aside for the feathered fiends

Yes they love shrimp and anything fish related. I actually prefer to give them protein items as a treat rather than veggies, but I have been giving a head of cabbage a couple times a week, and carrots during the week to help with any cravings they get for greenery. But it's extremely expensive these days to give veggies, esp at this time of the year when most veg and fruit have to imported. Although we have vast quantities of carrots, cabbage, apples, pears, etc grown here, the market price (which is predicated on exports) is very high. Companies can and will sell to the highest bidder! Which means cabbage is around 7 or 8 $ a head!

I love when our fur and feathered friends colour coordinate themselves with the furniture! Hattie is one fancy lady!

I feel I was likely the one to start that whole 'crazy drivers' conversation, these days I have issue with people who don't put snow tires on :)

My Veterinarian and his wife are in Naples Florida, he just texted me and said it's on 4C (39F) there - brrr that is darn tootin chilly for there.

I always feel badly for those who are not used to this cold and snowy weather. Not being used to hoarding-in livestock's pens to block wind and snow/ice; and in some cases not having shelters to go into to get away from the wet weather.

@BY Bob, you know the difference between a porcupine and a Porsche?

On the porcupine, the prick is on the outside! 😆
Bad Alex... that requires much tax. Not only a zebra chicken but some photos of the new norians and your chicklets who are simply gorgeous.

I'd say hop to it, but I don't want you to go running about - so at your leisure a few of the above mentioned would be most appreciated.
