Wow, what a kind gesture. Beautiful birds. I would love to put my name in the hat as these would be my first chickens, but...coop won't be ready for another month. Wow..so many folks have had such tragic things happen to their babies... Makes me feel bad for wanting them just because they are beautiful.

Please consider one of the other families. I will gladly buy some hatching eggs from you if you have them available when I am able.

Everyone listen! You need to fix your coops and runs to make them more predator proof before you hatch anymore chicks so please don't get any eggs until then.

Like everyone else here, it is truly touching that both you and Miss_Jayne are making these offers.

It reminds me of the movie "Pay It Forward." If only more people were this kindhearted. I would love these eggs but with almost 75 chickies of various ages running around I do not need these. There are those of you who have replied who do have a NEED for these eggs and I hope you get them.

You gals are great women and are obviously inspiring other great people with your generosity as now there are more offering to send out free eggs.

If I could do the same I gladly would also but I broke for the next few weeks!!!

I have learned a great lesson in humility, kindness and generosity just from reading this tonight! So for everything that you're doing THANK YOU!!!!

I'd love them too, but I don't know that I'd say I deserve them. I am a hatchaholic and would love them because:
1) I have room in my bator,
2) I don't have any BBS Orps yet,
3) I love my Buff Orps' personalities,
4) I love the big fluffy round- like-a-basketball chickens,
5) I'm addicted to hatching (did I say that already?)

Hi Miss Prissy,
I've been trying for some BBS Orps for about 2 years now. I've had eggs sent from here, there, and everywhere and have had only 2 hatch. Unfortunately, a pack of wild dogs tore my coop apart and killed 2 of my chickens before I could run them off. Can you guess which chickens they ate? I finally got a breeder in Washington to agree to bring me some started pullets in Jan, but she ended up telling me she didn't want to deal with any BYC members, so I finally just gave up and decided that those beautiful Orps were not in the cards for me. So this evening, I see your very generous post and I'm thinking maybe, just maybe. . .

Whether or not I get the eggs, this is a very nice thing to do.

Heres my tidbit...

Recently i ordered appx 36 eggs from 3 different people, paid a good amount of money... All of my eggs were developing, and then I had the dreaded LG spike... (prob my fault) i lost 2 dozen with blood rings. So i kept a watchful eye on the remaining eggs even up until day 18 i could see some with veins.... I kept them in my LG. Well my husband built a new bator, and what better than to use for a hatcher! WRONG! Day 18 they went in...... Day 21, lost another 7....

needless to say 2 have hatched, and i only have 4 more eggs that are surviving.....

I could have cried... 2 whammys in one hatch....

I dont know if ill ever pay for eggs again.

I guess you live and you learn...

It's incredibly sweet & kind of you to do this. Like others, I was going to throw my name in the hat, but after reading the other posts, I won't.

I only wanted them because BBS Orpingtons are the breed I've chosen for myself. You have very beautiful birds & I'd like to buy some eggs from you someday.

I'm sure you'll choose someone who deserves them.
