G'day everyone from (not so) sunny Queensland, Australia. Big thank you for letting me join your online community. My wife and I have a 1 acre block and currently have 3 laying hens (ex-cage Hyline commercial layers) and recently acquired 6 pullets. 2 Welsummer, 2 Polish, Blue laced Barnevelder and a Barnevelder/Wyandotte cross. I am also into growing organic vegetables to feed us and the chooks. Look forward to learning from the more experienced chicken owners. Cheers.
Hey, Another Queenslander here. I did my degree @USQ. I'm presently on 1/2 an acre with 3 large veggie beds & a small orchard. Welcome aboard. ;)

Thanks for the welcome mate 👍 We most definitely are in summer, been getting crazy storms here since Christmas. The rain has been very welcomed but not the wind and hail. I love the idea of like minded communities like this. The more we can share the better we are off. Cheers.
Welcome to BYC! Oh my goodness the storms in VIC are crazy!! Just yesterday we had some massive hail and not too long ago as well. We had all our Christmas inflatables up and a couple of them (the dearest ones) had their fans blown up. Hope you didn't get too much damage.

Yes. We got badly needed rain but no power outages. My Brother rode out Jasper. He lives aboard a 52' cat & had to head up the creek. Cairns will be mopping up for a while.

I lived in Toowoomba for nearly 10 years. It's grown a lot in the last few years.
I saw some photos of yachts in the mangroves up creeks and stuff. Pretty wild. Toowoomba and out where we are near Highfields has definitely grown.

Thank you! I don't watch the news or anything so haven't heard much about down there other then a mate sending a snapchat of his daughter in her kayak out the front of their house 🤣 They're on the Vic/NSW border. We were all good here but the GC copped it bad.
