Ok, moving her nesting spot makes a lot of sense now! No more head bashing allowed, remember?

Now if you can just get her to go along with the plan...
Yeah, that is the key. She is the one i call Dora, likes to explore and sometimes tries to sleep outside in the run. So i carry her in an put her up on the perch. Every night, even the night i bashed my head...

Awesome hatch! What type of incubator do you use?
It’s a Brinsea octagon 20 with humidity pump. Which malfunctioned half way through and almost completely soaked the incubator. Glad I was there to catch that one.
I also tend to run my temps at 100.5 but at that there’s little room for error. Even so this last little guy is almost 2 days late. I almost threw him away.
Just about there.

It appears to be another rooster which I’m short on so glad to have him.

Today's day 18 for my Bielefelders and cemanis. Unfortunately we had some incubator problems along the way which made me lose most of my eggs.. I think I have 4/5 bielefelder eggs and 3 cemani eggs still alive :fl
Except for the incubator problems these Bielefelders seem to be tough little critters. I think ours are from the same seller. Don’t give up on them. The last to hatch on mine was 2 days late with fairly even heat.

Yes, I really hope that all 5 hatch out, Keeping my fingers crossed.. Was really looking forward to breeding these guys next year too :( I'm praying for at least 2 pullets!

I have two nest boxes about 3' high that have outside access to pick eggs. She has decided to lay in the back corner of the coop in the straw. It was her egg i had in my hand when i bashed my head on the perch. That is how i ripped out all the sutures and ended up in the ER and then the ambulance and then the ER in the other hospital.
Ugh. And to think i love that chicken!:lau
Ouch I’ve got pain in my head just thinking about that. Several of the house truss areas around here will nail you quick if your careless like I’ve been.

Not sure little puzzled my Hatchery Legbar was dead on the roost this morning
no trauma rig had not even set in .. I use pallet table as roosts not sure what happened
Sorry about that. Chickens die for the craziest reasons. My best pullet years ago was doing fine when fed in the morning came back less than a hour and she was dead. No trauma perhaps heart. :idunno
