Love to try quail but the chickens keep me going around here.

Well it looks like the last egg isn’t going to hatch. Kept it in with the chicks over night. What a hatch.

Quail lay up to 300 eggs a year! They start to lay at 6-8 weeks. Some of them are quite friendly, and they come in a great variety of colors and patterns. Plus they don't "count" in the chicken population... quail math!

I hope so too. That wasn’t expected after seeing the dented box at the mail box. They usually hold at post office for me but I didn’t get in to tell them to watch for it.

Update on the last egg. It’s alive.
Went to clean up a bit in brooder and it has pipped.
A few days late but.....

Plus, in some places where chickens are outlawed, quail are ok!

There sure is. If the other hadn’t pipped wrong that would have been a 100 % hatch shipped eggs.
