It does sound like we are going through something very similar. Very actually. Our last house was given to us through a deed of trust. My dad held the deed and forgave a certain amount (something like $11,000) each year. We used some money from our previous house to pay for about half of it, but he owned half. We were down to 2 years from owning the house outright when we decided to move, but we just had to get away from them. The deed of trust transferred over to our current house. I have two years left of putting up with my family before I can give them the big middle finger. Part of moving was to get out from under my parents and not having them hold that house over our heads. We didn't have their help at all in buying this house, the deed is just on top of what we paid for the house. I can't wait to be rid of them.

Can I be in the "pain in the you know what" Mom club? My mother still wants to tell me how to live. This is the same woman who dealt with my 2 pet cats as a child by abandoning them when we moved. I still feel sick about that. I am also the black sheep child and my little sister was the golden child. It has been more of a curse for her though. Mom messed her up pretty good too. Can I be in the club?

That's it exactly. When my mom freaked out on me for posting on Facebook and my dad called me a jerk, I asked him the very next day what we would need to do to sell the house. We followed through. We wanted to get far away from there. We got 7.5 hours away. We would have gone further, but we couldn't find anything in our price range and what we wanted. It actually is a relief to be away from them.

My last "civil" talk to my parents was I was leaving the ghetto hell, taking sister with me, not coming back and they could beep off. When the pastor wanted me to be upset, he got told to beep off also. Life is better without them.
