Incubating Geese Eggs

The wavy line is because the membrane was pierced, and it partially collapses onto the chick. It’s fine and normal. Not sure about red spots. Possibly broke a blood vessel when the membrane broke, but probably not an issue.

So next you should see an external pip within about 24 hours (likely less) and then up to another 40 hours before zipping might start. Could all be much quicker than that, hopefully the wait won’t be that long.
Thanks so much! I almost had a heart attack this morning thinking it died. I’ll be waiting patiently and updating. The humidity is 60-70 and I really hope the shell isn't too thick. Still moving but seriously thank you for all the help! I’ll post pics of the external if it happens:fl also...40 hours!! I’ll be waiting:)

They'll drive you crazy taking their time :)

I don’t know what to do. It’s super late at night and there is still no external pip although it’s rolling a lot and just heard the first peep! I’m going to sleep on it and give it its time but I’m really scared that I should make a safety hole. The air cell was huge but I’m not sure 24 hours will last. Wish me luck as I am terrified and have every single finger crossed:fl

If you're very worried, you can do a safety hole now - it wouldn't hurt anything :)
Actually I had seen it in the morning and saw it was tapping and I was just talking to it and it was moving SO much I was sure it would be fine. This morning I woke up to amazing news:D
There’s a small pip!!! Now just to wait to see how long it’s going to take, I hope not 40 hours:lol:
