All by himself! This morning there’s a little progress but it’s definitely not zipping so I’d give it another day or so. Today is day 28 for the little guy.

It looks like the membrane is pulling away from the shell. I hope it’s not wrapping the chick. I’m just going to keep an eye on it.

I'd give it longer than that. He might just be punching around a bit and enlarging the pip, not actually zipping. Waterfowl seem to do that a lot.

Ok, he seems to be just shoving his bill out to get off big pieces but hasn’t actually turned. I think you’re definitely right. The membrane on the bottom is slightly yellow so I’m going to check every once in a while.
