July 2022 Hatch-A-Long

Pics
I love my light Brahmas too. Got a buff Brahma this year, my favorite Brahma since I raised them growing up. Then I have a blue Cochin hen and Roo, buff Cochin, and silver laced Cochin. And trying to hatch splash Cochins, and project Cochins. ❤️
Pics of your cochins please!!!
I'm really contemplating getting one cuz I luv their chunkiness!!!

My guinea is still alive an kicking. I am extremely impressed and I hope she continues to survive the, uh... trauma she's been through.

I go into lockdown tonight, and I think they'll hatch on Monday. A couple chicks look a little too big, some haven't filled up the egg. I'll candle for the last time tomorrow to make sure they all internally pip, and then I'll leave them be. Guineas are a little slow in development. I'll turn them tomorrow because I probably won't have any external chick pips, but do you think I should be worried about not turning them on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday? They're on day 17, but like I said, they're a little behind. Thoughts?

I will have to get some recent/better ones but here are a few. My buff is bald from my roo, but none of the other girls are.... As you can tell 2/3 of my girls have been broody. Lol. My blue hatched/raised babies 9 weeks ago and has now been broody almost 3 weeks so will raise the ones in the incubator.

Oh they are just beautiful!!! The one with baby on her back is the lace one?

These next 2 days are going to go by sooo slow, days 17 and 18.... Then I am gone all of day 19 and some of day 20 so hopefully that helps it go by faster
My impatience got the better of me....I just put everyone in the hatching bator after candling and am going ahead and bumping up humidity now. Will probably take a bit to get it where I want it, so I didn't think it was too early. Everyone looks to still be alive from what I could tell, and I've got them laying with the most probable pip point pointing up. Can't wait to see if we get some rocking and rolling in the next day or so! I love this part! The waiting is brutal, but once things start happening, it's the best! Gonna candle the new eggs tonight since I missed candling for Day 7...I think....can't remember if I did or not, lol. Whee! Babies!!!
