July 2022 Hatch-A-Long

Pics
My impatience got the better of me....I just put everyone in the hatching bator after candling and am going ahead and bumping up humidity now. Will probably take a bit to get it where I want it, so I didn't think it was too early. Everyone looks to still be alive from what I could tell, and I've got them laying with the most probable pip point pointing up. Can't wait to see if we get some rocking and rolling in the next day or so! I love this part! The waiting is brutal, but once things start happening, it's the best! Gonna candle the new eggs tonight since I missed candling for Day 7...I think....can't remember if I did or not, lol. Whee! Babies!!!
Let us watch with you!!! Excited for you and the babies you're bout to have!!!

Oh how exciting!!!! I am going to get mine set up tonight and weigh the eggs and mark air cells. Sometime tomorrow I will bump humidity. I need to figure out about how much water to put in to get it where I want since I have someone else doing it Sat and Sun morning.

I have only had one egg make it to hatch in the incubator and never noticed it moving. Saw the external pip after it pipped, saw it make the hole bigger... Then missed zip and hatch.... I better at least see every part of it this time. Lol

I'm amazed at how lacing can look so different on each breed!
My Zoe and Josie...sure wish I hadn't rehomed em for a dumb breeding project I have no clue how to do!

OMG, is that a chicken scrunchie!? 🤣 I had no idea that was a thing.

On a different note I’ve made bad calls on rehoming or culling too. Others I kept too long and should have cut loose, thrown in the towel, much sooner. Live and learn. Now I aim to make new mistakes every year. Rather than repeating the same old ones. :lau

It's the vet wrap you can do around their crest so they can see...didn't stay on long so ended up trying to cut her hair and totally regretted that! Jacked her up badly! Lolol
