Oh! They are so adorable! And the colors!!! Are they all cochins? Here are some of my babies. I have re-homed 3 I was confident was girls, and 1 I think was a girl. I have 2 girls, 3 boys and 1 I am iffy on but leaning to girl.
3 of them are cochins the other 7 are project chicks the breeder has been working on for 3 years. They are cochin/EE crosses and worked on to look just like Cochins but they lay green eggs. And I must say they do look just like Cochins since I can't tell which ones are which. haahaa. Some of the project have the EE comb but some have straight combs. The breeder said the Cochins would have yellow legs but I have 2 Roos with yellow and 1 (I think) pullet..... Which would mean that somehow I kept all 3 Cochins but not sure if that is right. LOLOh! couple days of giving them space and not calling them to eat to pecking at them and wanting NOTHING to do with them. chicks will be 8 weeks on Sat and are like 'what is happening?!', they came out to eat and chill when I was out there otherwise they spent most of the day in the coop on roosts--they will be ok but it is a hard transition. Pictures to come this weekend, I am needing help with 2 with gender!wow your mama mothered them for a decent amount of time. So far mine have decided around 4-5 weeks they are done and start to roost again and leave the babies down in the nest box. Think I had one that went to 5.5 or 6 weeks. The one mama I have is still going strong and the babies just turned 5 weeks so guess we see how long she goes.mama hen weaned the babies yesterday--man it was a quick processcouple days of giving them space and not calling them to eat to pecking at them and wanting NOTHING to do with them. chicks will be 8 weeks on Sat and are like 'what is happening?!', they came out to eat and chill when I was out there otherwise they spent most of the day in the coop on roosts--they will be ok but it is a hard transition.
