We ran a few days late candling (day 10). I’m down to 17 chicken eggs. I had to remove 7 tonight. 5 non starters (1 mine/4 shipped) & 2 blood rings (1/1). I still have 11/16 that were shipped 2,300 mi cross country :wee

Hey does the Isabella leghorn lay as well as a white leghorn? I know stupid question. I love my white leghorns but it drives me nuts how white poultry always finds dirt to get in, I mean they can have a field of grass and no mud..it doesn't matter.🙄 No not ocd..
I do feel your pain 😂😂 my Ameraucanas stay filthy looking & it drives me crazy. I’m sure my white leghorn & snowy EE chicks are dying to get just as dirty 😂

I love hearing everyone's progress and successes so far.

Day 18 started at midnight CDT and lockdown has begun!

I did a little more reading and confirmed with the breeder that Icelandics tend to hatch on day 20 rather than 21! So now I'm getting really excited/antsy here waiting to hear the first peep or see egg movement.
