WIth all my injuries from horses, the ortho said arthritis at the point of injury was a given. Didn't really like to hear that! THen one day I was talking to a friend with rhumatoid arthritis. At the time she was doing weight watchers to loose a few pounds and I was doing Atkins to loose a few more than a few. When she was on WW, she didn't need her once a week meds to manage the pain. When she goes back to her typical AMerican diet , she takes the pills again. Very enlightening observation on her part.
Try reducing the carb intake to a very low level for 2 weeks and see if the pain due to inflammation is reduced or eliminated. Most doctors don't know that the carbs in our diet have an inflammatory effect; and when the body is already fighting joint damage or injury the pain is much greater. Not all carbs are created equal.
If you are willing to give it a try, you need to eliminate a lot of foods we all usually eat, and replace with 3 cups of vegies in a day. Eat the low carb types: green beans, asparagus, lettuces, salads, etc. If someone wants a more pain free life with less meds, I can expand on this diet.
