March Hatch-A-Long

Pics
It's just the end of day 21. I decided to help a little. I got the bathroom humid with the shower pulled the little swedish flower hen egg out and plucked of shell but left membrane for about 80% of the zip. Dampened it a bit with warm water when done and put back. Humidity is now up to 77%. If it can't get out now it might just be too messed up to live because basically its in an unzipped shell. Hope little struggle survives. Nothing happening with the one pipped egg or any others yet. I figured hatch might be a day or two late as I was often 100 instead of 102.

Just when I pull my incubator out a hen goes broody. Still going to hatch but now I'm not sure if I should let her set.

I would let her. Mine did such a good job with their eggs and it was so much less stress.

So, I got my two upside down chicks safely hatched with assistance. By the time the second one was out it had been about 20 hours since it originally pipped so I feel it was the right choice since they weren't zipping. Even with help, they had to work really hard to free themselves at the end. Both seem to be doing well. I hope all the lid opening and closing didn't hurt my chances for the other eggs. At least I know I got these two. Here you can see the first one out and the second one working on it.
