:ya (Sorry for the awful pics)
So far I have 2 female Bielefelder, 1 male Bielefelder, 2 English Orpingtons, one Wyandotte, and tons of pips!

Sorry for the late post, but everything that I do lately is late. Last Thursday and Friday we had 7 ameracaunas hatch, 2 at one daughter’s house(C) and 5 at the other daughter’s house(A). Last month when I hatched ameraucanas, I didn’t get in yellow chicks. I was ready to get rid of the buff hens and possibly the rooster. Well, this time we got 6 yellow chicks and 1 black/brown one. Go figure. We had 3 incubators to start with. Each had 6 eggs. Each incubator had 2 eggs that never started/weren’t fertile. One in mine was an early quitter. Daughter C had 2 quitters and the last 2 hatched. I gave daughter A my eggs because I was having issues keeping the humidity regulated. She had 5 hatch, 1 DIS (malpositioned) and 1 late quitter. 18 eggs started, 6 not fertile, 7 chicks. Daughter C hasn’t parted with her babies. Let’s see if she will be able to have a couple of hens.

Woke up to all 6 of our duck eggs pipped! They are all making progress but I did notice one egg membrane turning a soft yellow. It's been a while since I have hatched... but this egg just pipped overnight, so I am not sure of the coloring and why. I know it is hard to tell in the picture but I'd say it's a nice butter yellow.

Do people mist duck eggs while they are hatching to keep the humidity up? Am I freaking out over nothing?

I thought that this was an enabler forum?
It’s now Hatchers Anonymous...

Hi, my name is Krista and I wake up some mornings with eggs I don’t remember putting in the bator. Sometimes I catch myself replying to local ads for hatching eggs and delete the draft before I send it.

My not even year old broody has kept all FOURTEEN of her babies alive for three weeks! Knock on wood.

I’ve got a pretty hawk savvy flock, but, I’m prepared to accept the risks with this many babies running around with just one mom. It sure is adorable though!

as soon as she kicks them off I’m giving away most of them, I’ve got another broody I need to give eggs to.
