Raccoons & possums! I hate when I have to go out at night and deal with them. The other day there was a huge chicken snake just outside my door. It was well over 6 feet long. I went to catch it and release it several miles away (they do a great service when they aren't eating chicks, chickens & eggs), but it saw me coming and went under some stuff on the porch. :( Maybe between me chasing it and the dogs, maybe it'll go away. lol ....and maybe there's a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow???? hahhahhaha

I lost my protector of my flock yesterday :hit:hit:hit:hit We woke up to him having a hard time breathing and pretty cold, rushed him to the vet to find out his heart had a defect we didn't know about and it had ruptured. He was only 6 yrs old.

Yes it's very aggravating.. We have possums and hawks that we have to watch for every day here.

Update on my chicks roosting at night:
Today has been a week since my chicks joined the big coop but they still haven't worked out how to go up the ramp to roost at night. I have been showing them up the ramp every afternoon. Today Hazel got up and yelled at them but still not happening.
So mum/me is still showing them how.

My baby Banty's took a long time to figure out they're roosting habit when I moved them to their big pen too. For the longest time they did the pile on top of each other pyramid in the corner lol
