He was a very very inspirational man. When he passed it was abit annoying because he didn't really get the mooring that he deserved. At the time Peter Brock died about a week or 2 after. Witch he was a legend Supercar Driver so everyone was upset and I remember reading this joke and was absolutely shocked and disgusted. I still remember it clearly.

What did Steve Irwin and Peter Brock have in common?
They both died of a fish tail.

It was just disrespect and I mean this was 1 of many things I read.

I don't know how anyone could make jokes like that.

Well, if it makes you feel better, I've never heard of Peter Brock... guess he's not as popular in America. And I bet there's not as many heartwarming tv specials about that guy. Steve Irwin's death may have been a little overshadowed, but his life's work will forever be in the limelight.

Yeah he was popular in Australian Racing so his death here was massive.
But yes it was disgusting for both parties and their families.

(Ok, I'm way behind so I'm just gonna start replying before I catch up... because the system won't let me quote any more messages )

I'm still getting used to that... it's a cute one.
I was thinking about changing mine too! My current user name is based from a silly Grover skit on Sesame Street. We used to watch that show ALL THE TIME when my daughter was little, and Super Grover 2.0 was our (my husband and I-- not little Emily's) favorite character. In this one episode, a chicken was trying to get over the Great Wall of China and Grover couldn't understand why it just couldn't fly because she had those "FLAPPY FLAPPERS!" I don't know why we thought it was so hysterical but to this day it's our standard phrase for describing anything that moves or "flaps".
So anyway, I thought I should change my name to something a little more... I don't know...?

We used to have a cat that walked the whole neighborhood with us when we took the dog out. But a chicken... that's great!


I totally want a goose! We're planning to move to the country someday and we want to get some ducks (and a bunch of other animals). But will a goose want to socialize with the ducks? Or would it still be a good protector?

I love it when there is an “inside” story behind a name or a reason why we say or do something!! Those are always the best!!

Oh I'm gonna have to watch that one!

Animal Planet's been airing a 2 hour special called "The Steve Irwin Story" all week, I recorded it, and we often have it playing in the background during the day --which I'm watching right now. Every single time I see it (no matter that I already know what they're gonna say next) I always start bawling at the same few scenes. Like uncontrollable sorrow at the loss of such an revolutionary animal advocate, and also admiration for the legacy he's left behind. I'm sure Steve would be so proud of his children.

Yes, we have been watching that as well! I’ve missed his show... we used to watch it every Saturday morning in the 90’s when my boys were young... and eat donuts . He really was so great!!

Wildlife Update:
The other night I was on the phone in the kitchen then this green frog just slaps on the window and scared me.

Im not sure if I have ever shared this other free frog that comes out when it rains. He looks so old and wise lol.

I wanted to but I thought he should be outside and happy. You cant tough them unless your hands are wet or it burns their skin.
