People who don't do birds just don't get it. While I was in DC I showed the boss pics of my birds including my turkeys and ducks. I also showed them the kids in the brooder and told them that was 450 pounds of future meat. They have no idea where their food comes from.

In my flock, one starts it and the others join in. It's fantastic in chorus.

Size of comb an wattles doesn't matter. Color does. Redder equals ready to lay.

Shes getting redder so she may start soon then. They are 3 months almost

I just read up on Rhode Island Reds and they usually start to lay at about 18 to 20 weeks. Shes 12 at the moment but I remember Hazel was starting to get redder at this age too. Omg I might have a layer in afew weeks! Yayyyy

Its been overcast all day! I took the clothes off the line and popped them in the dryer because it looks like rain on the radar but nothing yet

Hazel was laying this morning when I was leaving for work but didn't get time to get her egg.
