Well i am an old wife!

Not even a day here. It's supposed to start this afternoon and be over by tomorrow morning. It's going to be hell this evening, but people STILL go crazy.Henny and Stacey go a little nuts? Caffeine and sugar is the culprit.
I go a little bonkers... must be drugs...Cappy.
ANYWAY.....
Went to Kroger. Damn near every shelf was wiped out... almost looked like FL when a hurricane is coming... sheesh! We're getting ice and snow people....for like ONE DAY..... have a pb&j and suck it up buttercup!!!
I am in my comfy jammies and have NO PLANS to leave the bed for 24 hours... unless I gotta pee... then I might get up..![]()
I messed up my shoulder years ago. They gave me muscle relaxers for it. It helps soooo much, but I rarely take them. Only when I'm in absolute misery do I break them out. I should go see a pt, but that takes time.Something in my back popped earlier, plus I have severe muscle strains in my upper back/shoulders and joints.... so, DH is gonna give me some MEDS (not drugs), so we hit up Kroger so that the PIC and DH could load up on crap food for the weekend. I let them blow out their taterholes when I don't feel like dealing with the kitchen. We actually have plenty of food in our pantry and tucked away in freezers.. we even can cook if our electricity goes out or gas as well.
So what is that, like 2 snowflakes? We had 0.00001 inches of snow today![]()
What are 'basics'? I think diversity can be an issue b/c of temperament... I have some girls who are total push overs and then some real meanies, always pecking at everyone else.BOTH beautiful birds! I’m so jealous of all of you guys and gals with all the nifty DIVERSITY you have. I love my girls, I do, but they are just “your basics”.
Or go dumpster diving... if they recycle paper separately you should be able to grab a bunch from there. You could try newspaper too. They used to insulate houses with it. Newspaper is expensive here but maybe you could get some left overs from delivery.
I got 8 eggs out of 12 girls the other day. Yesterday it was 6... BUT I do have a light on in the coop. I have a partridge rock that I swear hasn't laid at all yet. I've never seen her on a nest, not even once.I have 35 birds. 26 are female.
I am getting one egg per day.
My current oldest is three years old, and a bantam. The rest are under two.

But they have scorpions, giant spiders, poisonous snakes, and ridiculous heat. My aunt lived in TX and the sun actually bleached the carpeting through the window in the back door.StinksLet's all move to Texas where they daylight hours are long and the cold is non-existent.
Thanks! I have Monday off so maybe I'll bring him into the house and give him a good cleaning. Maybe after some pampering he'll stop trying to kill everyone.Apryl, a bath with dawn dish detergent, the original stuff, will do him a world of good. His feathers will go back to normal and he'll be able to stay a bit warmer. You would need to bring him in, bathe him, then towel dry, and finally dry him the rest of the way with a hair dryer on low or medium heat. Make sure he's completely dry before putting him back outside.
We were actually warmer than you last night & I don't feel bad at all b/c we'll be in the 20's by noon.
I have had someone eating eggs periodically, but I have no idea who or under what circumstances. It doesn't happen often so I think it's likely that an egg gets broken and they eat it rather than someone breaking them open to eat them.Doesn't that teach them to eat eggs?
Birds found at the average feed store. BOs, BR, RSL, BSL, etcetera...What are 'basics'? I think diversity can be an issue b/c of temperament... I have some girls who are total push overs and then some real meanies, always pecking at everyone else.

I have owned ~200 birds total, admittedly not all kept to maturity, and had exactly one egg eater. She was a broken feathered spazz that seemed to be in a perpetual moult. Not a normal bird. She wasn't too terrible, but she'd go after an egg every few days. Horrid layer too so she got sold.I have had someone eating eggs periodically, but I have no idea who or under what circumstances. One of my girls is solid. Not a dark feather on her. The other is more slight with random dark feathers. Mostly tail and wing but she has some fluffy ones that are dark hiding under her outter feather.I like wheaten Ameraucana looks like coffee and cream
Course, if I have chicken friendly crumbs.... I might be tempted to lure away those two cuties of yours
Morning allCSA, what part of NM are you in?
