Official Squatch Watchers

Years ago we were in the car on the way for DH to have a colonoscopy. Some guy fell asleep at the wheel and crashed into us, totaling the car! It was a highway, and both cars were moving at around 55 mph. It was a miracle we were not killed. Both got broken ribs out of it.
Poor husband had to go through the colonoscopy prep again.

This is just awful, the wreck the colonoscopy prep, the ribs, the cars....terrible!

Are these the little ones that you had upstairs? I'm jealous. I desperately want to clean our coop. It's so gross. The straw is damp from the rain. On the plus side it washed the blood off the white birds.
When I first got them 8 weeks ago I thought I would hide them upstairs, but the smell is something that cannot be hid. They went immediately out to the coop. My coop is dry, but between 16 weeks of chicks and 6-8” of pine, it needed a change. Since my chickens stay outside all day and I have a poop board (for those that will roost!) my coop is never bad. I have a BC or 2 that likes to be in the middle of the Silkie Pile.

Yeah, i am pretty tough but i was shaking with the pain and fear waiting for the ambulance to come. Our car ended up in the fast lane of the other side of the road going the wrong way and one of the tires was ripped off entirely! Husband was trying to start the car, i got out and looked. Said you need to get out of the car, someone might hit it. Very scary!

Chicks have a stench all their own. Mine were trapped inside for a while so it didn't help the situation. Hopefully after this next freeze we'll stay reasonably warm for a little bit & they can be outside more.

That's horrible. Glad you were all ok.

My processing station is about a 1/4 mile from pasture. I use cones and collect below. Blood goes into my garden. Eviscerate goes into the compost pile.
:hmm when I put blood meal in my garden the varmints dug up the garden.. same with eggs shells :rant
