I’m pretty sure I ate the eggs during a corid treatment.
I also eat the eggs during worming.

A controversial subject everyone has their own opinion. For me, when I did the math, if each egg laid has the entire dose of wormer in it I would need to eat a dozen at once to get a dose of wormer for myself.

I survived with no ill effects as did my parents. I told them about the meds and they were fine eating them.
Corrid is fine. No withdrawal period.
Safeguard here says 14 day ( hmm or 10...) but in the U.K. they say 0 days.
You're fine!
Probably good that you didn't mention it to the 'rents tho.

Yup exactly my conclusion too, plus it probably wouldn't hurt if you did get wormed right?

My dogs have always done fine with my chickens, but I would never leave them alone unsupervised. Especially the bantams! They look took much like toys.
I guess my dog is just weird.
He's also well trained and has zero prey drive. Oh, and old.
He's outside with the girls all the time if it's warm and sunny.
He has a coolaroo dog bed in the yard that he likes to lay on in the sun. Turns out the girls like it too, so sometimes I'll look out there and it'll be him and couple of chickens.
They get really excited when I open the door to let him out to do his business. They all run to greet him.
One of these days somebody is going to get pee'd on because he doesn't lift his leg!
I just took this picture out the window two minutes ago! He's going! They're just pecking away underneath him.

My parents have a little poodle that has never gone after the chickens or anything. He has wandered in that direction, but has never been near them enough to know what he's like w/ them. I think they're taller than him though, so he'd probably be afraid of them... except he DID chase after a giant deer once (did I mention he's stupid?).

@rjohns39

No major developments except that Apryl29 had a young pullet diagnosed with cancer. She did the right thing and had her put to sleep, but her little human is pretty upset.

Other than that it has mainly been chit chat the last couple days. Recent topics include:

- How to treat a slow crop (cause 21 hens has a bird in difficulty)
- Do you eat eggs while treating with Corid? (Apryl asked. Varying opinions in response)
- How much fat is normal on a laying hen?
- Determining sex of cats (Smuvers newest family member is NOT a girl)
- Do you let your cats and dogs associate with your poultry?

Also

-Rae’s plans for the new chicks and guineas she ordered
-Misty has folks working on repairs to her water system
-Cappy might be getting sick :(
- MD is sick
-Anansi met with a new doctor (who is hopefully good!)

Our dogs just chase them back in the kitchen if they go past where I put my hiking stick. That way, Gurtrude can have her broken dirt baths, and the dogs know where she's allowed to be. They're always supervised, but the dogs will walk around in the kitchen with the chickens there and there's usually not a problem. We have an Anatolian shepherd/border collie mix, a chihuahua mix, and a chihuahua/Springer spaniel/terrier mix. The two chihuahua mixes are 9 and 11 lbs, respectively, and the bordertolian is 60 lbs.

No, I wouldn't really be comfortable leaving any of the dogs alone with the chickens, and definitely not or current cat, either. The previous cat would have just avoided them, the current one doesn't really try anything, but the look she gives is one of "lunch time."

I would definitely not trust outdoor cats around chickens either, even if I had chickens (roo or hen) that are proven protectors. I would never want a single bird to go up against a cat, too risky, unless it's a full size Brahma. There's just too much that a cat can do with their claws as well as teeth.

Stacey, she's 18, and she thinks it's a cool nickname, plus it was given by one of the people in her friend group.
Now that I know that I feel better! It IS a cool nickname!
I just wanted to know if we needed to form a mom posse and take care of a bully!
Tried it out on myself in the mirror.
Didn't fit me.

Wish o could come up with a cool name --- thus my ACTUAL NAME as a screen name...

I told them. They were ok with it. I didn't give eggs out to others though just in case.

That was my thought! And I never saw worms in the toilet so either I don't have any or it really wasn't enough to dose me. LOL

Neither cat knew what to do with a chick. Both sniffed it and watched.
I don't leave the dogs unattended with them either. My Chihuahua is a good bird dog and will help corral a lose bird. If they ran at him though I think he'd turn tail and run. My Cattle Dog I don't trust. She likes to run up to the fence barking and watch them scatter. She's been good if I have one in the house for treatment but I always have my eye on her.
