If she hatches them, she'll raise them. Problem is that turkey's take 28 days to hatch and chickens set for 21. I put one week old chickens with my baby turkeys and it works. poults have one goal from day 1 to day 56... That is to find a more inventive way to commit suicide. Turkeys also need way more human time than chickens. Spend time with them, give them love and treats and they'll be like big feathered dogs.
 
So,she won't care? Even though the eggs are way bigger than hers. She won't flip out when all her chicks aren't chickeny either? I'm just thinking this might be a great way to satiate a broody I'm bound to have and get my teeny turkeys at the same time. I'm probably going to be using one of the derps so there's plenty of butt room under there.

I am trying to figure out how to get hubby to agree to turkeys and where to put them...
 
No problem, I'm here all day they're all big feathery dogs. I'm thinking even if I've got to slip them in the fav will take them they're kind of nutty like that. If they're suicidal though maybe i should do it since my little hens aren't very observant.

Well, give this a shot... The barred owl who stopped by for chicken dinner a few weeks ago... well his carcass and feathers are in the compost pile as the Toms made him dinner. The red tail hawk who was migrating and thought my place was a good place for lunch changed his mind when four BR Toms took flight to intercept him.

As a general rule turkeys are big feathered dogs. But they protect the flock and love to cuddle. They are also disobedient like children. But they provide live entertainment all the time.

If you have chicks a week or so older they'll protect the poults. It's kind of a crazy dynamic.
 
Lol, i can see Cappy seductively shaking a turkey leg..... there's more where that came from big boy.;)
