Official Squatch Watchers

Or you could take it farrrrr away and let it go somewhere else.

Or you could catch it and take it to animal control which hopefully isn't right in your backyard and they can let it go.

We don't have an animal control here.... no joke. If you find a wild dog or something, YOU have to bring it to the shelter or leave it alone or shoot it or *whatever*, I guess depending on the circumstance.

Plus, aart posted back in 2016 some VERY good reasons why relocation/catch and release doesn't work. Lemme find the thread.

That's ok. I may have seen that at some point. My brain was tickling a little as I typed it.

I was just thinking of options.
Maybe related to the fact that I stopped my car one night right before Christmas on a trash night because there was an opossum in the middle of the road with a big Hardee's cup stuck on her head and she looked so pitiful standing on her hind legs with her little hands trying to get it off and I had to get out of my car and snuck up behind her and took it off. It just looked at me and went on its way.

Ok. Go ahead and throw rocks at me. I'm a wimp.

If the possum isn’t bothering my birds or my trash can. I probably would have done the same.

No you're not. You're just sensitive, and an animal lover. MOre people should have a kind, full heart like that, I think.

I was driving home from work one day, and a possum ran out in front of the car in front of me, got hit, rolled across the road, and landed on the side of the road. I did two U-turns, drove back to where it got hit, and was hoping to save it. It was dead. I cried for two hours after that. It just made me really sad.

(I guess it's a good thing I'm not a vet anymore.)
