I've got a little rooster crowing in front of a sun at the top of my buttcrack. It's my take on the "crack of dawn" it will give people something to discuss when I'm old and getting my diapers changed.

Somehow he tore his ear open. Must have been jealous of his brother getting attention. No idea what he did. I go out to collect eggs and he's sitting in a weird spot....never seen him there. So I get closer and he's all bloody. Of course dried so I have no idea where it's coming from.
Bring him in to clean him up. Have to sit on him so he won't go anywhere. (Good lord is he big. Stood as tall as my Blue Heeler) A couple of other scratches but ok. No blood on his brother....hopefully not a cock fight.

I hope your ladies aren't as evil as mine and start messing with him. Is he doing better now?

Just some of my egg haul, from earlier today. Lately (the last month or so) I've been getting 6 or 7 a day from my 12 pullets. My EE, Maya (the most flighty and unfriendly of my birds) started laying these big, khaki-green eggs last week. The inside shell is almost blue. Hers is the top one:

The bottom one is from Blueberry, my FavauDERPcana. It's hard to tell, but heres are more of a sage green. The ones at east and west are bantam cochin and ayam cemani eggs.

I have so many eggs now I've been giving them away, eating them like crazy, and I made another batch of pickled Sriracha eggs yesterday.

We got the taterholes out of the garage and into the CP Coop... we jerry rigged up the door for the coop so we could get the t-holes OUT of the garage, which is very much smelling like... well, 9 taterholes that pooped in there for 6 weeks!!! UGH

Made 2 batches of rock candy fudge - Chocolate and a white chocolate peanut butter.

DH has a 4 day weekend coming up so that's when we'll be breaking open the JAMON!

Okay, so I'm outside today checking everyone over looking at feet, checking for mites y'all know the good stuff. I'm checking the roo, and he's got this lump on the side of his head of course I'm shook. I start spreading feathers, looking and then i realise it's a sunflower seed in his ear. I don't know how it happened, don't want to know. Must be a bad day for rooster ears.

I didn't realize they could get things in their ears.. I thought it was just like a lobe spot.

OH, forgot to mention. I have an internal pelvic exam coming up 5 March. This appointment is a triple threat. I'll have to fast the night before to have blood work done. THEN I get to drink a ton of water to fill my bladder, at which point a camera goes up my pooswa to take pictures. I am THEN allowed to go pee, and return to have the camera stuck back into the black hole of calcutta.... all in the name of checking for uterine fibroids.

Yeah, I'm definitely gonna be on a triple amount of Xanax after THAT appointment!

We have babies!!!! Ordered 16, received 18 strong and noisy chickies. I'll take more pics later, but these babies need to warm up.

I've never been able to figure out what happened after someone got hurt. I just assume someone got pissy and pecky. It's nice that we're finally getting a moment of warm-ish weather so they can go out. Mine don't have grass in their run anymore so just going out gives them something to do.

@apryl29 Yep, they can get things in their ears. I technically didn't even know where his ears were he dosent have any outer lobes and I've never went looking.

Most of the time people say ear when referring to the earlobe. The color of the earlobe shows egg color, generally. Red earlobe is brown eggs, white earlobe is white egg. Behind that little tuft of feathers is an ear canal.
