well it rained most of the day yesterday and freezing rain before dawn today. I checked in the usually hidey holes before I locked the coops up for the night... :old

yep a bedraggled hen, 'stinker', was standing at the coop door this morning. I took her in to dry out since it's below freezing. I put her in with 'lucky', the not quite right pullet that survived the hawk attack staying the winter in my living room parrot cage. Of course she started pecking lucky so lucky got to go out with the thanksgiving brood... stinker, the wet hen, was their broody. She has been a pain since she was little. I thought she had to be a boy for months. She kept jumping up on my lap as a chick and still jumps up on my shoulder if I am sitting out there :hugs... keeps hopping the dividing fences and changing coops.. and just had to sit on eggs in NOVEMBER :rant
She certainly has a outgoing personality and is one of my favorites:love, but a pain.:smack

I just wish it didn't take 47 different peppers to make it. That seems to be a HUGE thing in SW Texas.... foods that need 8 different peppers, but everything at the store is just named *chili peppers* ! :lau
But it’s so worth it. This and green chili stew are some of my favorite things. Down here all the peppers are labeled differently. When I went to New Hampshire to visit some family I asked for some jalapeños because I was having withdraws they brought some and it was like eating a bell pepper. I was so disappointed. I got to have the heat

Love you too doll. Haven't even done taters with the garden. First, we finally caught a possum in the dang trap... yet DH didn't know what to DO with it.. so it sat in the trap for almost 2 days (HUMANE trap) until the neighbor came down to shoot it..... with his .22 pistol.... and missed the first 2, possibly 3, shots. Took 4 in toto to bring it down.

That really gave me the weirdest case of the giggles all day yesterday.

Gonna look up azomite. Thanks sweetie!
Missed you hun :hugs
