I have a 25+ year old Kirby. I had to take it apart last week because the on/off button wasn't working right. Thanks to Youtube, a nice gentleman directed me on what to do, and it's working again. It had some crud stuck on a piece inside that was causing another piece to not move correctly. Yippee, I can vacuum again.

:lau
We had Kirbies when i was a kid. Thing lasted forever. Then they bought a new more powerful one.

Bagless ones can get messy when you empty them, I'm accident prone so I dump the dust cup in the outside trash can. I've had the bag ones and its just too much fiddling, and maybe its just here but its a nightmare even finding bags for the things. The old big baggers sure did suck like nobody's buisness though.;)
I recommend Shark because of how many I have used. All different models. They are not cheap but watch for sales and you can get a good deal. Also anyone I know that's had a problem with their Shark has had wonderful experiences with customer service.

I'm not a fan of bagless. I think they make a terrible mess when you empty them and they don't hold much. My parents still have the Kirby from when they got married--45+ years ago. They take it in to get serviced and it's good as new. Weighs as much as I do but can't kill the thing.

Reminds me of "porn for women" Half dressed buff guys with word bubbles. "Don't worry honey I'll clean the bathroom. You relax."

Usually they will take older ones as trade-in. I know I had to buy mine on payments. I think it took me a year to pay the thing off. But 27 years later, I'm still using it!

A good friend with infinate patients for all of FNF questions. Quite literally a witch (technically not a wizard) as a high ranking practicing Pegan Elder. FNF refers to me as Mr. Wizard due to the mad scientist/chemist part of me.
