I'm going to have to full block off Hobo's roost spot top and bottom. She's so mean to everyone else, and they just take her crap! That ameracuna Susan is the same way, she waits for Hobo to chase someone off the roost then she pounces. I don't get it at all. Hobo is tiny, smallest everything out there and Susan was bottom tater until the derps hatched. It's like a prison brawl every time I lock up! They've been good for a couple of months, but obviously that's over. :barnie

No. I have a FAVAUCANA. Which is the chicken equivalent of a "designer dog breed"--like a Labradoodle or Schnoodle--that I used to make fun of people mercilessly for buying. So basically, I spent a taterload of money on a mutt that is half Ameracauna and half Derp.... :lau

Smuvs, why are you getting Derps? Just curious. Your chooks are more of the production-not-pet flavor, right? Derps are the speds of the chicken world, I think....not very bright, kinda big, and lay a ridiculously small egg for their size, am I right, Chickass? :duc
 
They are indeed! But, in the special snowflakes defense once those little eggs get going they're really regular and they've got a richer flavor than the other girls. Added plus, those derp eggs sell for a mint on eBay so Smuv possibly has the start of a mad money empire lol! I've heard they taste good, I don't know since I don't eat chicken but supposedly they're delicious. You'd have to be a monster to off one though, like executing a cocker spaniel. :lau

If you can make a bundle on them through eBay, why don't you sell them AssAn?!? And honestly, I originally wanted a flock of *pet* chickens....... our first five flocks have been ones we have learned on and from, and they are there for production. I wanted a flock I could just *kick it* with.... and I like dummies, as previously noted.
