I’m a person who would go without so my kids are cared for. My furries and feathered are my kids. I must admit I’m currently struggling financially. Major life decisions where made based on 2 people being responsible for those decisions. I find myself alone now. Would life be financially easier if I didn’t have a house full of kids. Of course it would. But there are also times when they are the only reason I get out of bed. So yes I’d buy the $20 item if they needed it even if that $20 meant I didn’t have something. Luckily I have good credit, can be extremely frugal when needed, and have family that can and are willing to help if I need. I hate asking but I know I can.

I used butter and some of your yummy raspberry jam on the French toast. Super delish!

I know what you mean. I had to make major changes to how we manage things when I quit my job in August. No changes to what the critters get food wise or medical care wise.

The sun is shining today, hoping it will be a good day. Lots of animal chores to do. Hoping there are no more dead animals to discover today unless they are mice. Mice in the garage and the bunny barn. Put out glue traps and poison stations. Need to build a couple feed boxes and cover the lower parts in metal. I have some garbage cans, but when i buy multiple bags of feed they don't all fit.
My quail eggs are on lockdown! That means 2 days to biopsy.
Smuv, i am really sorry i pissed you off by explaining how some folks think. I didn't mean to be lecturing you. Sometimes i am just a tater hole and don't think of others feelings. Let me know and i can quit posting here so you feel free to rant.
 
There's no reason to quit posting here. I just felt you were lecturing me like I was either 1. Ignorant, which I am not or
2. A child, again which I am not.

I see both sides of pretty much every conflict.... however, I just wanted to vent a little steam because this has been a topic that has been coming up quite a lot lately (that I've sen) and it had come to a head. I felt safest ranting in my group, rather than finally exploding all over the next person who posts their financial inability to attend to their pets. That's all.

We never once had a pet we couldn't afford. Currently, we have 2 dogs, 3 cats and our flock of chickies. I want a goat. I want pigs. Right now we can neither afford them money or time wise so, guess what? We don't have a goat or a couple of pigs.

That's all. I'm done.

Put the derps into lockdown this morning. I hear peeping when I whistle at them so I am THRILLED right now!

Cleaning house and folding laundry today. I completely HATE laundry. Need to find disposable clothing!!!

I must have missed something.
Nothing drives me battier than seeing people complain about not being able to feed a pet.
GET rid of it if you can't afford to feed it!
