Putting 7 in with the bantams takes care of the being alone part...
They should do fine together. Sweet little bantams will be good company for the cute Derp.

I have to get dressed and move my motorcycle so hubs can get his out.

Don't hate me.... If we don't get some serious moisture we will not be allowed to water at all. I will be out there in the middle of the night with gallon jugs trying to grow veggies.

The fines are stiff for illegal watering!
That's insane, but you guys have wild fires in that area, don't you? I hope you get some rain soon, but not all at once b/c you don't want flooding.

I’ll send some too 21 hens. Second day of spring and we get snow.

Why anyone gets up before sunrise I’ll never know. But got the kitty to the fix place and paid for. Place smelled like an operating room (clean) and everyone was super nice. I paid a little extra and made a donation for the work they do. Still way cheaper then the $250 I was quoted by the vet office.

I need to find a new regular vet. Not only prices but the vet my family has used since before I was born has left. 37 years in practice and he moved on. Literally— to FL. His grandkids are there so I can’t blame him but I’m sad.
That's how we ended up at the Newton Falls vet. Our reg vet had a stroke, and some people came in to take over and they were dumber than dirt. My cat had a huge open wound on his leg and they gave us NOTHING for it and said he'd be ok. Well, he kept licking it. It looked like raw hamburger. I went back and told the lady that they gave me this puffy stuff before in an orange bottle and she had no idea what I was talking about... LUCKILY the vet's secretary helped him enough w/ stuff that she actually knew and the vet lady was like Oh... I never went back after that. I hope you're able to find someone you like. I know it's a little far for you, but the vet in Middlefield that I took Jaiden to is nice, IDK how much they charge for normal pets though.

You are welcome to our snow! Hubby put the snow blower up in the rafters of the garage. I told him that would make it snow, and it did! View attachment 1305027
At least we know who to blame now.

Somebody stop the cuteness!

Fuzzy Pippins. :love

I am up to 18 quail chicks but one has a deformed beak. Very happy with this hatch!
How many more do you still have unhatched?

THAT'S MAH BABY PIDDLES!!! Good girl!!!

Nothing from the other two as of yet. No pips but I've heard some cheeping goings on so......

JUST got home from running damn near everywhere today. Start the day leaving the house late cause someone crashed their car in my front lawn. This is the second time in less than a year..... not in the same place though..... but it took out the left hand section of my trees..... 1st crashed driver took out the right hand side of my trees. This is getting ridiculous.

Couldn't set of the ozone machine as we were running late. Drop the bubbies off for their haircuts, get parked in the lot of the barber for PICs haircut and saw... I didn't bring my wallet!! So, traipse all the way back home to get my wallet and decide to go ahead and set off the ozone machine. We closed off the room (as per instructions), and left for 2 hours. Went to get the PIC his haircut (I HATE it), had breakfast as Awful (Waffle) House, went by Kroger and then came home. Opened up windows and went to Dollar General to let the room air out. Came back and almost as soon as I got in the door, groomer called and Bubbies were done. SO, back into town (the groomer is RIGHT NEXT DOOR to Kroger), and back home.

The crashed car is still in the front of the house.

How'd the ozone thing go? Do you think it helped?

Kitty said "I don't give a tater if the vet said check my incision!"
Ouch
Love your tattoo! & I think the cat figures it's payback for having her insides ripped out.

Well, I didn't really hear anything other than white noise. Though the egg that I thought was dead was a lot quieter than the other 4 eggs.

I'm worried because today is day 21 and there is still a lot of lit up space around the chicks. They aren't completely filling the eggs. 3 definitely moved while I was candling them though.
Not sure what kind of stethoscope you have, but could you take a small cup and create a cone around it to try to pick up the sound? Kinda like a cup on a wall?

Hey guys! I forgot to tell you...I have a job interview tomorrow, 5 minutes from my house!

They just closed the schools, so it's probably going to be rescheduled. But it would be a great position...I'm excited. Wish me luck.:fl

Off to go polish up my references and try on my interview/funeral suit, lol!
Good luck!!!! Working close to home is the best! I hope you get it (and that it's a nice place to work).

So I googled chicken tattoo--
I try not to judge--
tattoos are personal.

Why oh why....

eta: the fact that I didn't put the actual pict should tell you something.
I LOVE horrible tattoos. I once saw a young lady walking down the street w/ 2 hands tattooed across her shoulders so the thumbs and forefingers formed a heart. Like this:

2 full entire hands in black across her back. SMH
And recently a guy I went to school w/ did a cover up on someone's neck over a tattoo that said Shawty in script. WHYYYYYY???!!!!! My 14 yo has been asking about tattoos and I tell her about these things when I tell her no, she's too young.

Yeah @pitbullmomma, don’t have that cockerel tattoo out when you go for the job interview. I know it’s yours.;)
I was going to make a comment about whipping it out, but I don't want to be cleaned again.

Good morning.

I'm gonna call it. I think all the movement and chirping I heard/saw was in my head. Candled Six and Mr Nibbles and there's NO movement. I believe in my heart of hearts DH tatered them when he was *helping* by opening the bator during lockdown to add COLD water. I am really not a happy camper.

Not quite sure now what to do with Seven. We have the small bantams in a brooder in the bathroom... think they'd take to Seven? GAH I don't want them to be alone.....

@pitbullmomma had/has a power outage, so any assistance on how she can keep her broodies warm would be helpful!!

DRs. today for follow up on hypertension meds, sonogram of ovaries (cross fingers its NOT endometriosis) and blood work (pray that it IS a thyroid issue).
I agree w/ everyone else. I got my birds at different ages and they all lived together. Now, the tiny babies that were a month younger got put in a hammy cage for protection, but my bantams were the size of my sexlinks & leghorn when I got them and they all did fine. Then 2 weeks later I added 4 day old chicks and there were no issues. I hope 7 does ok.. Too bad you don't have a Peggy and Al to be his/her parents. (I had a cat neved Seven.. but she has 7 toes).
No suggestion on heat, except the boob method.
Good luck w/ all the dr stuff. I hope it goes well.

Lol, I can't win. I got husband shamed this morning for not putting any of Marlene's eggs in the incubator, that huge delaware with the crappy attiude...sigh. I just couldn't, hatched that Frankenstein rooster off her last year and that broke me plus her eggs knock the turner out of whack. He's just after those jumbos, no idea what goes into raising her heathen children. :barnie

I'm going to try some RSL and Indian River Broilers with my Delawares this year, but I've about decided I'm done with Delaware chickens. I might keep one or both of the roosters (they have a good stabilizing effect on my bachelor pad), but the hens are bossy, pushy, and nippy.

@Chickassan punch him dead in his nose to save me from having to do it. I am SO po'ed at him right now I can't begin to tell ya.

And, @apryl29 the house smells very fresh right now. Got the ozone thing to clear the living room of animal urine smells, and my damn Wiggle dog decided yesterday was the BEST DAY EVAR to go ahead and pee on the carpet AGAIN... first time in MONTHS.... :barnie
