Official Squatch Watchers

Ok—I’m better. I’ll explain. Thank You Cappy for listening to me blubber. Smuv for the number too.

I had to put down my GG. It did not go well. I’ve never done it before. I’d rather never do it again.

She wasn’t doing well yesterday. Not that hopping around on one leg is well but she had been getting around and eating and such.

She was worse this morning. I offered her some food and he wouldn’t take it. She was breathing shallow. I knew it was time.

It took me several tries. And I wasn’t prepared for the flopping. I knew they did but I wasn’t expecting a foot in the air. I wanted to talk to a chicken person. Someone who would understand and not freak out at the gorey details.

Again, Thanks Cappy

Coffee and water are hot, so are the quiche in the oven, the peaches and cream oatmeal and applesauce in the slow cookers. There's non dairy beverages in the fridge, and some gluten free French toast made with cashew milk instead of dairy. Banana bread and bagels are on the counter with the butter. I'm hoping everyone remembers where all the goodies for topping off breakfast are. Oh, there's also almond milk creamer, and for those who want to forget the day has started, Bailey's Irish Cream now has a variation that has almond milk, which you'll find in the very back of the fridge on the top shelf. No driving for an hour after, so choose carefully based on your plans for the day.

:hugs:hugs for everyone. :frow See y'all later.

I'll take the Baileys, and hang out with Gertie in the living room watching Quantum Leap.

Taking Flexeril for my shoulder that I threw out this past weekend.

Stanley Steemer came and went. $157 BUT the curry mustard stain is out of the carpet and the whole house smells like citrus.

My total cholesterol count is good, but I'm a little low on my HDLs and a little high on my LDLs. Too easy to fix.

Found a 3cm cyst on my right ovary. Going if for another sonogram in 6-12 weeks to see if it's getting bigger.

@Chickassan , the derp taters is starting. Seven cheep cheep cheeps until I go into the brooder and pick her up!!! RILLY?!?!?!?

The bantams have taken Seven *under their wings* so to speak. She is definitely part of then bantam clan.

:frowGood morning @rjohns39 and everyone else.
Little bit of frost here last night. I was out there with the puppy crunching around in my nightgown at 2 and 4:30 am with the puppy.
I’m getting more used to it and he’s getting quicker which makes it easier to get back to sleep after we come back in.
It’s funny being outside in the middle of the night when the neighborhood is asleep.
My neighbor across the road has a stand of BIG pines and one of them CREAKS so loud when the breeze blows. It’s super creepy. I never knew this prior to being out and about at night.
Stace, just a random :hugs to you....cuz even though you have your own burden, you are never too busy to care. You're such a sweet, loving person. :love

@staceyj
Thanks honey bun!:hugshere’s one for you too.
:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs
HUGS ALLLLLL AROUND!

I'm so drawn out and tired. It feels like nothing is going right today.

My eggs aren't hatching.

I found out we accidentally killed one of our chicks.

We forgot to pick up our Azure order (fortunately our drop coordinator is AWESOME and is keeping it for us).

DH's back has been acting up.

My nighttime network is too slow to do a build that I was supposed to practice on and the guy I'm filling in for goes out of town week after next.

DH is getting us ice cream.... :) that will help!
I hope you have a better day!

Ice cream helps!

Oh, Nunny. I am so sorry:hit:hugs

It's horrible. I went through that except same thing. And even though you know it's the right thing to do, it's awful. I only did it once, with my little Mini, and it went terrible, it took like 4 or 5 tries and it took forever. I had Smuvs on the phone listening to me screaming and wailing. I'm glad you were able to talk to Cappy; it's a good friend who will help you through that.

They make it sound like it's an easy thing to do, but it's not. I think there must be some kind of skill involved. When they showed us how to do it in vet school it looks so easy, one yank and done. But it didn't happen that way for me, or you.

I've euthanized plenty of animals, including my own two sweet dogs, and nothing was as bad as trying to euth my chicken. Like I said, there's some measure of skill, plus it's way more hands on than giving an injection.

I don't think I could go through that again, I will just go to a vet and pay for the service. I am really, really, really sorry you had to do that, trust me, I felt like I had PTSD for a couple weeks after....

PMing you my number....I gotta go but I'll be around later.:hugs

Sorry, had to skip a few posts.

@Redhead Rae what's going wrong with your hatch?

I've lost 2 serama chicks in 2 days. One under each broody. Just found them cold and dead, like they didn't stay under momma. I don't understand how that happens, how a hen can take such good care of them, but then one dies. And Sara's little one was almost 3 weeks old. :hit

I used to ride motorcycle, hubby traded his for a 4-wheeler, I finally sold mine a couple years ago, after we moved, I had quit riding much. I miss it though.

WVDC, I'm so sorry....those little babies were so beautiful. :hit:hit:hit

:hugs to you my friend.

there is a lot of sadness today....

Good afternoon yall, still doing the chip and chirp with Early. If i got more chip and less chirp I'd have a chicken by now. The one next to Early is not exactly pipping, more just cracking so it has been dubbed Cracker. No sleep since Early sounds like a rape whistle. I'm so sorry for the losses some of you have had, life can be a rotten tater sometimes. :hugs@Smuvers Farm , um yeah rilly, I told you they were clingy little things. That's your derp ;) I figured the bantams would take to 7 and absolutely knew 7 would be cool with them. Derps got absolutely no taters to give, they just like company that dosent beat them up.
