I find younger roosters get along with older roosters better when they are introduced before sexual maturity. Then, once the hormones hit, he and the older rooster can re-negotiate the pecking order as needed.

My avatar, Molasses, is my #2 rooster in my main flock. He doesn't crow, but he has girls that flock around him and let him mate with them. My main rooster, Inca, chases him off girls and away from the feed if he can. But they have 40+ girls and 5000 sqft between two of them, so they rarely connect. Molasses avoids Inca and they are pretty amicable. We found we had to put our different feeding stations out of eye line of each other because Inca spent all morning chasing Molasses away from the feed.I've been wondering about my 2 boys. I had 2 hatchmate boys before. Right from the start one was head rooster. They always seemed to get along fine. I didn't see aggression between them.
These 2 boys are totally different! I thought Captain was in charge. I'm not sure what happened but now Trouble is the lead. He takes his role very seriously. He chases Captain away from the girls. Will stop him from mating if he gets the chance. Even stops him from crowing. (Which is funny sounding. Roosters can't run and crow.) Trouble even defends me against Captain.
I sorta feel bad for him. But is that what normal #2 rooster life is like?
Well, I just posted one of my Delaware roosters and 10 of my Leghorn cross hens (I'm keeping the two Leghorn/EE girls) for sale on a local livestock sale group. I hope I get a bite. Trying to whittle down my numbers to the breeds I want to keep long term.
Yeah, a state based poultry and livestock sale group and on the FB marketplace.
I listed the rooster at $20, I don't really care if I sell him or not and I listed the 10 hens for $100. 7 are in their second laying season and 3 are on their first.
You sell out fast!
