Official Squatch Watchers

Oh I've got a funny for you guys.

I told my DH that I was going outside to mess with the chickens and he said "Oh, going out for a chick-me-up?"

:lau:gig:lau:gig

I meant to tell you guys yesterday but I forgot how it went so I asked him just now, he told me again, and said "I'm surprised you haven't shared that with your chicken co-dependents yet."

*Glare* :lau:gig:lau:gig
That’s IS funny.
I like being one of your chicken co-dependents,
and need “chic-me-ups” several times a day.

:gig
10 cream legbar eggs :loveDH is picking them up for me while I am at work. Initially he was not very excited about driving out to a farm on his day off but he quickly changed his mind and decided it was the best option. Apparently he thinks I can’t be trusted at a poultry farm  And he is right.

What are you getting WV???
I burst out laughing when I got to the little text.

Aww, thanks! I like you too!

Here’s a different type of pick-me-up. He has his bunny and dual plastic cup handle anklets. And the harness helps us keep his shirt on.

I'll be joining our mini hatchalong too!! I'm hatching button quail for a science project. We'll be getting 24 eggs. 6 of them will be hatched normally, 6 will be hatched without shells in a special setup. Both of these are controls. The remaining ones will be hatched without shells with a plasmid to genetically modify them to glow in the dark. We just got the incubator today! I was reading the instructions, and they referred to BYC as a good source :P

Just to verify-A thermometer inside a water wiggler should read the same as one outside, right? 99.5 in a forced air incubator?

The incubator we got is the Farm Innovators forced air one.

The one in the water wiggler will tell you roughly how warm the eggs are (since the water takes longer to heat up and cool down than air). The one built into the incubator will be more variable but should stay in about the same range.

One of my kids used to wear a harness in the high chair ....
Anchored with carabiners to the frame.

I forgot to add, that the harness is a great "grandma handle". He likes to run from my MIL because she isn't fast enough to catch him and he can get into all sorts of things before she catches up. If she holds on to the strap, he can't get away in the first place.
