Whatcha gettin???? Huh, huh, do tell!
I've got more eggs coming tomorrow too. :th

10 cream legbar eggs :loveDH is picking them up for me while I am at work. Initially he was not very excited about driving out to a farm on his day off but he quickly changed his mind and decided it was the best option. Apparently he thinks I can’t be trusted at a poultry farm  And he is right.

What are you getting WV???

Good morning/afternoon. Hiya Sassy Mouth! :hugs

Pollen here is killing me and the PIC.... my eyes stay itchy, swollen and red. Looks like I've been smokin dope all day! :lau

We got12 salmon faverolle eggs off ebay and had to toss every single one. I can't tell if they were fertile or not, because they were *resting* in an egg container on top of the incubator, and one of out lovely cats knocked the wntire thing off the counter. 2 eggs cracked, and the ST (Super Tater, DHs NEW nickname) just put the eggs back into the carton all willy nilly, not seeing whether there were right side up or not, and put the carton into the incubator and didn't tell me!!!! grrrrrrrrrrr

It wasn't until a day later that I saw what he did. We still tried to *set* the eggs... but at day 4 every single damn one of them were completely clear. FFS

We've noted that most of our eggs are now fertile, so we're going to do a test batch of our own girls' eggs and see what develops. I think this will be fun. I know our red sex links are fertile, and wanna test them.... and our white leghorns as well, but not sure I want to hatch out them.... although they ALL will be cross breeds from Fat Bastard and Holy....

I'm gonna get ST to help me take pics of the little batams and Seven AND our roos this weekend. 2 of the bantams have SUCH hairy feet and legs, it's hilarious... until I realize I'm gonna be washing their feet anytime they get muddy.... ugh

HAND everyone! Miss you!
Miss you too...i have been having guinea adventures but too tired to type it all out as i went to dermatologist and then all day shopping! I almost ended up spending the night with my leg in a hole between two logs and sand falling in the hole, while holding a guinea in the dark. Hubby was in bed by then!
And today i was trying to get ready to go to Lynchburg, opened the incubator to get keets out...and they all jumped out the sides of the bator, off the dresser and onto the floor! With 2 cats and a dog in my messy room! "Oh My Goodness!" Hubby even came up to see what was going on. Those things are 24 hours old and can RUN already! Lets just say i was late for my appointment !

More babies!!!! :yesss:
Although it sounds like the ones you already have are a handful!!!
Its a baby explosion around here! I am trying to hatch all the guineas i can, and once the quail start laying in 5 weeks or so, same for them. I have 3 litters of bunnies and another due Friday, plus another bred.
Idk how i am going to make gardening time with all the stuff i need to build!
The metal tray i made is big enough for the plastic egg trays! Phew, the egg trays just arrived today.

:frow Coffee and water are going. There's a quiche in the oven staying warm, don't worry, oven is off. There are stir fried veggies and scrambled eggs for breakfast fajitas, apple cinnamon oatmeal in one slow cooker, and caramelized peaches in the other. There are also gluten and dairy free crepes, perfect for the peaches, and you can see how they work for the breakfast fajita. I didn't make them quite as sweet, so I set out some powdered sugar for those who feel their blood sugar is not quite up high enough.

Had a good delivery of insects this time around. 500 superworms, no looses, 500 large crickets, 10 dead on arrival, though the chickens couldn't care less, they still tasted delicious from the speed they were gobbled up. That means that we will have live food for the chickens and frog for a couple weeks, and I won't have to worry about running out of crickets as quickly. I hate getting shipments with large losses because die off on the rest is a lot faster. Large losses also means that the chickens get a lot of crickets for the first 3 days, and then it dwindles down to where they don't get any, basically feast then famine, repeatedly over the winter. I try to make sure they only get 10 superworms and 10 crickets per day, which is what I figure would be their normal catch of they were outdoor birds. I've also let the kids know that I am the only one who should give them their scratch grains, but that they can give the dehydrated mealworms. I want to limit the scratch grains so we don't have an issue with fatty liver disease, especially since they are living a decidedly alternate lifestyle.

Today's adventure, go to feed store, look at baby chicks, come home with layer feed while leaving all fluffy butts from the feed store at the feed store. I also need to pick some stuff up for kids and dinner. Outside of that, I have some stuff to do on the computer, and the rest of the day I plan on doing a little as possible.

:hugs:hugs:hugs:love:love:love for everyone. TGIF, and enjoy. :frow
