I did some reading about walnut trees.......

Although they are supposed to not be toxic to most livestock I would put the ducks somewhere else.

Walnut trees put off a toxin through their roots.
Ducks "noodle" or basically play with mud with their mouths.
I would be concerned that they would ingest the toxin that way.

I am a cautious person so would be inclined to just not take the risk.

I am thinking you are very correct. I don't play with fire.... well, yes I personally DO... but I don't mess with the lives of others... well, yeah I kinda do THAT too.... hell, let's just say I want my livestock and pets safe... heehee

Stace Face, man I tell ya what.... around here 10:41 IS early for me.... I tend to not get much sleep every night...... especially with bug bites on top of a back ache and menopause... at least I am PRAYING it's menopause... I'd hate to be hot and sweaty for nothing.... yeesh.

Been out watering already. It's going to be hot and dry again today.

So with the menopause....... It's not just me that gets super overheated at night?
Oh thank God! I thought I was losing my blooming mind!
Even with a big ole fan forcing cool air in I end up getting up and standing out back trying to cool off.
It adds to the exhausted all day feeling.


Today I will start cutting my apple tree into removable sized pieces. hate to lose it but it is super infected with FIREBLIGHT.

I dont really know the time frame but I can tell you that I can tell who's gonna be a boy at 1 week old now if they are a bantam mix. They are cocky and charge at you lol. I know it was very young that they were chasing the ladies.!! ​

Willie was a turdface from early on. He was racist and would attack ALL of my black chicks, even his gf, Ash. I had to separate him b/c he was so mean, then he was about 6 weeks old when he started crowing. It suddenly all made sense. He's still a turd.

Nugget update- I'm wondering if Nugget might be a boy... it keeps pecking Loki's waddle, ear, and eye. Last evening I was *trying* to make a space where it wouldn't be able to wander off and while I was getting some clean straw it wandered over to the door and poor Loki was trying to get it back. I'm hoping that it's a normal chick thing to wander around. I got some chick feed for it. Loki doesn't look so great. I'm going to get some nutridench tonight for her to see if it helps. I completely forgot when I went to the store last night. She just looks exhausted.

Me too. I'm hoping the nutridench will help. I'm going to head over during lunch and check on her. Her beak seems long. I assume b/c she's been sitting for several weeks and it hasn't been worn down. I'm going to make her some eggs too. At least it's fairly cool right now.
Does anyone have any other suggestions?
