My Cochins have such extremely fluffy butts that I just cut away any poop encrusted feathers. The trimming seems to help prevent it from happening as often. So I would start with a trim, then decide if you need to wash her as well.

@FlyingNunFarm I posted on the other thread for how you can get measured amounts of powders in to birds without adding to drinking water. I've used the method on many of our pets, and it's pretty much the same as giving liquids via syringe.
