Holy WOW! My bantams are super mellow about that stuff.

Need to tame those beasties.
She’s feisty but generally as sweet as can be. I can carry her around and snuggle her all I want. She runs up to me when I go in the coop. Exam time is a NO! She complains about checking the butt fluff. :gig

I also do the football hold for butt checks. If more examination is needed I’ll put one of my legs up on a cinder block and set them chest down—feet out across my less. If I’m tired or too taterin hot I’ll sit on the cinder block! :D Feet out behind them works facing forward too. Made for less scratches and bruises on my poor legs while trying to look down throats.

:hugs cappy, I can definitely sympathize....

Sent DH out this morning to feed the herd..... and he got everyone fed.... says he didn't *see anything out of place*.... couple hours later and I'm asking him... where's our last 2 ducks? Lemon Drop and Who?.... he says he didn't see them when he went out to feed everyone.... and they are usually quacking up a storm......

Sent him back out to take a tour around the tree and he said he saw a few white feathers (Lemon Drop) and a few brown feathers (Who) but no ducks.... so I am assuming they got snatched.... so, no more ducks :hit

I asked DH he got them rounded up into their coop last night and he says he DID.... but I'm gonna go ahead and think he didn't... he had tied one on and was focused on some new telly series he started watching..... I am going to assume he didn't put them up, thinking *what's it gonna hurt them being outside one single night?*, and whatever took the first 4 got these two cause they weren't cooped.

Starting tomorrow, I will be having a few out patient procedures from my Dr. Many skin tags have cropped up over my body, but I have 2 fairly large groups of them on both of my inner thighs. It has made moving around (walking/running/exercise) quite bothersome, so we're going to do one thigh at a time. I have some around my neckline, underbewbs and armpits as well, so they'd be a 3rd visit. I am hoping the removal will make exercising a LOT easier. I always move with care, even when it's just around the house.

Happy Feisty Birthday to the MD Squatch! SO damn cute I can't stand it!!!

I did find and catch one of the missing quail. And in other news, one of my 2 adult albino quail got itself upside down behind the waterer in the corner and drowned itself! Not good.
I did sell 6 keets for $7 each today so that opened up a brooder for more quail. The guineas have not laid inside in 2 days, despite me keeping them penned until 4 pm. Idk how long they lay , i know they are seasonal layers.
Sorry about your ducks, Smuv. That is miserable. I get to do all the animal chores so if something gets missed, it is my fault.

Can someone possibly recommend a good place to get decent sized trees? I mean, not twigs, like we received from Arbor, but saplings or something? We went to our local nursery, and the trees we want (2 weeping willows and 2 Cherokee princess dogwoods) would add up to about $600!!
I got my trees at Lowes. They might be able to get what you want.

Cappy, you are not having luck at keeping your birds from finding new ways to do themselves in, are you. Seems like no matter what you do, they are bound and determined to thwart your good efforts and intentions of saving them from their own devices. I'm glad you found the one quail, though.

Smuvey, sorry about Lemon Drop and Who. Keep working on the duck pond and try again in the spring. Grrt at DH for the probable role he played in their disappearance.

:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugsfor everyone.
:love:love:love:love y'all.

Been gone for a while, but will try to catch up in a bit..
First and foremost... WE ARE NATIONAL CHAMPIONS! 2 of our routines earned first place, & my daughter's group got platinum! I'll upload a video later now that it's over.
2nd, the babies are huge... We missed the little baby chick stage. :( we have 2 lav orp boys if anyone near me wants them. I'll be posting them for sale as soon as things settle down a bit, but will give them for free to anyone local-ish.
Tiny human is good. Still recovering & not eating meat Or dense foods yet. Trip went well, the airbnb was nice & in a nice city. AC was surprisingly safe feeling. Spent $113 for 3 ppl to eat at a buffet. A good trip, the win makes it worth expense and the MANY hours of driving.
Hope everyone has been well & you & your pets/livestock are surviving the heat.
