I was sitting on the porch just having my coffee and I heard a bang, so i'm like wtf and start looking. I had sat an egg on a table and forgot about it but obviously it didn't forget about me. Oh man thats a nasty smell!![]()
Nope. He's a dark, shiny chocolate. The chance of another rooster getting into the mix is almost 0%. These birds are in an enclosed run over 200 ft away from any of my other birds. Plus, any of my birds that have "blue" are feather legged and this guy isn't.The rooster must be?
@WVduckchick This is what my rooster looks like. The girls I got from you are in the background. They got seriously sun faded.

My kinda lady.crud about half moldy.
I got dark grapes Saturday and half were all wet & moldy when I got home. The ones that looked okay tasted bad. Sweet corn has been especially bad from the stores this year. No wonder I trust ice cream.
I suppose he could be another mix from my mixed flock egg, but I have no idea what mix he could be. We'll see as he gets older. Maybe the like the cockerel comes from a line that hatches lighter?I’m not sure then. But my chocolate chicks were always deep dark brown, from day 1. The ones that hatched pale were either mauve or splash
