So..... the Milk Drinker has been asleep and in his crib for 48 min by my count! He was a fussy, grabby, stubborn, tired mess tonight. After getting him ready for bed, he went to sleep in 10 min after starting to nurse and I had him in his crib by 9! No waking when I put him down!

My daughter has a fourth nerve palsy

It’s actually both my eyes but my left is worse. The sixth nerve is the one all the way to the outside of your eye. So mine wanted to cross. It was so hard to explain at first because it was very slight and worse the farther away I was looking. (Our eyes naturally cross a little to look close.) Movement was also very bothersome. At one point in frustration I said “It’s like my headlights are out of alignment!” And that’s exactly what it was.
The eye Dr found it when she did the follow my finger test. I couldn’t make my eyes look all the way to the outside, toward my ears. And you could see them twitch with the effort.
I basically saw double past about arms length. Sometimes my hand would even have extra fingers. It’s amazing how your brain tries to make sense of it. I was attempting to watch tv and a man and woman where on screen, at bust level having a conversation. I saw a bearded man with long hair in the center of the screen. The worst was trying to drive. I did that with one eye closed or an eye patch. Even riding in the car I couldn’t have both eyes open. The worst moment was when as a passenger the mailboxes along the right side of the road looked like we were going to run them over.
I finally got glasses to correct what I was seeing but even that didn’t always work. Then one day I didn’t need them. I still have trouble sometimes but with it not constantly active there isn’t anything to test.

When making peach honey do you boil the pits with the skins?
Some instructions I looked at say yes and some say no.

I am processing about 30# of peaches in the morning. I don't want to toss anything I may need.

We got our hands on 50lbs of fresh picked GA peaches. Made cinnamon peach jelly and preserves, mango peach jelly and preserves, and black&blue peach jelly and preserves. They turned out wonderfully!

We still had some peeled left over so I plan to use them in some ice cream. Washed the remainder of the unpeeled ones, sliced into quarters and froze for smoothies later.



Just popping in to say hi. Cleaning house, retirement ceremony upcoming with my moms visit of 2 months AND my in laws coming with their 3 dogs for a long weekend.

Miss you guys like crazy but trying to get my web page and facebook pages up and running. Doing a ton of schmoozing of local higher ups to see if they'd promote our farm. Just still in the midst of a social media break.

We got our hands on 50lbs of fresh picked GA peaches. Made cinnamon peach jelly and preserves, mango peach jelly and preserves, and black&blue peach jelly and preserves. They turned out wonderfully!

We still had some peeled left over so I plan to use them in some ice cream. Washed the remainder of the unpeeled ones, sliced into quarters and froze for smoothies later.

Wow. That’s sounds scary, exhausting, frustrating and nauseating all at the same time.

Well, the Milk Drinker slept pretty well but I didn't. He woke up at 2 am wanting to come to our bed. He fell back asleep almost immediately, but he kept messing with me in his sleep. Grabbing and pulling at my shirt, sticking his hand in my arm pit, thrashing about. I would cuddle him for a few min and then try sliding him off but he'd start messing with me again. I think he was having bad dreams because at on point he cried in his sleep a bit. I eventually just let him cuddle with me until he got uncomfortable and moved off my shoulder himself. By that time, I was pretty awake and didn't really get back to sleep until 5am and 5-6am was pretty restless. After the Milk Drinker woke to nurse at 6am I slept soundly until my alarm went off. I'm getting ready for church because I haven't been to our church in about a month, between the MD being sick, me being sick and us being away visiting DH's grandmother. But if DH isn't feeling well enough to go with me, I'm going to be staying home because I can drive, but if I don't have someone to talk me through the highway hypnosis, it wouldn't be safe for me to drive.

I'm not touched out this morning. Just really tired. Well, I've eaten. Time to get dressed, wake the boy, feed him, dress him, and see if it is safe to make it.
