We have two feeders, one in the front yard and one in the back yard, and we had two waterers, but one of them broke. We'll be getting a new one soon. I'll ask if we can get some salmon! I'm also going to make a bunch of mini muffin sized flock blocks to put around our yard. Hopefully that will also keep them occupied so they stay in our yard. We built a 4 foot picket fence with chicken wire on the inside to keep them from leaving our yard, and clipped a wing on each of them(except Dove, who hates just walking up the ramp to the coop) but they've been escaping over the wood pile.
Joke time: Why did our chickens cross the road?

I don't have an answer to the joke but can't wait to hear...lol
I baked flock blocks recently. Some in cake tins and a bunch in regular muffin tins.
They turned out pretty good.
(So the dog and chickens tell me)
I didn't follow any one recipe exactly, just kind of winged after reading a bunch online. I went through the cupboard and tossed in whatever looked like a healthy addition instead of junk.
Trying to remember what all was in there...:
Feather fixer pellets
Scratch grains
A handful of raisins and cranberries
Flax seeds
Meal worms
Unsalted shelled sunflower seeds
Cinnamon
Plain unsweetened Applesauce
Black strap molasses
Eggs
Egg shells

Maybe that's it....

That's basically what I do too! I'll add flax seeds, apple sauce and Molasses to things to put into it!

As a matter of fact, I have a ton of fish food, and a large portion of that is fish meal. Would that be good to put into the flock block?

A small amount will give you a substantial protein boost. Manhaden is the best at 62%

ETA: too much fish product, as well as flax meal can lead to fishy smelling eggs. Flax seed, as with all really small seeds, is generally not broken down much, goes in one end and out the other.

I had DW do that to our head roo, when he was still young. it worked...

I do it to 11 wk olds. Sometimes they just go around like they are mad with everyone.
