No, my bathroom is still a dust filled construction zone. His car is broken down, so who knows when if ever he will get here. This is exactly why i did not want this guy doing the job but hubby wouldn't listen. Pisses me off daily.Thanks! I sent it. I love when you read posts and they're really vague. Soak then wrap.. um, how? How does it not come off? So many questions. When Odin's tail was bleeding the guy said to put compression bandage stuff on it. What? Have these people not seen chickens? It's like putting a collar on a pug, you know it isn't going to stay there. There should be educational videos for stuff like that.
Changing stuff is how desk jockeys justify their pay check. I considered upgrading all of our public computers to Windows 10 just to have something to do for the last year... Instead I've been doing genealogy. Not that I don't have anything to do, just not enough to do every single day b/c my boss won't do her job and order me stuff. It took her 9 months to order a computer a manager requested to fulfill a grant. 6 months to order a server that the director requested for our new telephone notification system that was part of our transition (she finally got it 2 months after their deadline and I had a week to get it running).
I was driving down the road with the radio on and I swear it didn't make a peep, but the alert was on my screen. The radio was going crazy when I changed the station, only reason I knew about it. Not all phones are the same, BUT.. there was one lady on twitter who said her phone actually let her opt out. Not sure what kind of phone it was, but I was jealous. Can you imagine the schools?! My daughter's phone didn't go off, but they don't get cell service there. I also have a friend who's down in Gatelenburg and she said she didn't get an alert b/c she doesn't have cell service down there. So I guess that's one caveat to the whole thing.
The part I don't get is we already have extreme alerts and severe alerts... Wouldn't anything that would be a prez alert be categorized under either of those. I get that it's supposed to be 'directly from the prez & they're the only one who can send them' but it seems pretty redundant to go off on ALL phones.
The other night at like 2 am an amber alert when off and my phone starts blaring and vibrating and I'm just staring at it like I know it's a phone, but it's yelling and I couldn't process info enough to make it stop. And I hear the same situation going on in the other room for my daughter's phone. After that I had her turn off the amber alerts on her phone. It's a great idea, but I'm in bed.. I'm not going to be finding someone's kids, unless they drive through my bedroom.
And when you try to grab it, acting all nonchalant they freak out and run away and you scream at them "I'm trying to help you! You have something on your BUTTTTT!" then people stare at you b/c you tried to accost a chicken.
CONGRATS!!!!! I bet it was the lucky extra toed chick that did it.
I'm trying to figure out how they built the house on blocks. That photo makes me uncomfortable. Are you going to be able to take care of it yourself or will you need me to hire someone to do it? I mean, I guess it's been working fine this whole time, but it's really shocking. Did you find anything under the house?

Does she have a rolly chair you can scoot around on to stay off your foot? Then hire someone to load the truck for you [or POD or whatever you're using to transport everything] so at least you won't have to do that. The only other thing I can think of is if any of the neighbors have teenagers, if they'd give you a hand for some cash.

I toss the poo I scoop into a pile by the woods and my chickens like to go dig around in their poop and eat maggots. They're special. I tried to keep them out of it, but I gave up. They dig through their own poo like it's a buffet.. it smells so bad.
Can you get that on video? My favorite smh moments w/ chickens are: when they're dusting and are kicking in the dirt while they lay on their side and kick dirt onto another chicken. And when they're foraging in leaves or straw and they kick stuff back behind them into the space another chicken had just cleared out. Reminds me of that old movie bit where you got one guy digging a hole and another guy filling it in at the same time so it's an endless cycle of stupidity.Good morning! Turned off all the lights last night except for one and got most of those flies captured. I'm very glad they aren't like most flies! Easy to catch and not nearly as nasty. Hubs freaked, i'm like look they don't even eat so just calm down and stop acting like a girl. @apryl29, I did get the feather off Hobo's butt, I did it in the privacy of the coop and distracted her with a "hen hug" she absolutly hates when I do that! But it kept her pecky end busy. Feather was on there really good with pine resin. I'm starting to think they just go around rubbing their butts on pine trees!

I hate to admit it but I can't watch those faverolles dust bathe without dying. They're so round their feet stick straight out like a pig on it's side. They get buried alot by the more "leg gifted" chickens. It is that cycle of stupidty thing though, they always flop in the middle. They remind me of Homer Simpson.

She said they will let me know by tomorrow. And, they gave me that huge stack of pre-employment papers, contract etc. to fill out. So there's that!
