Here's my baby Serama. So cute!!!! (I can't remember if I posted this already, if I did, sorry, I'm going a little senile, lol!)

I think he's gonna be a boy....those baby Serama combs pop out pretty early.
So stinkin cute. I heard one of my Serama chicks trying to crow yesterday. His comb was reddening much quicker than his sibling so I was starting to suspect maybe I had a Rooster. Is it possible he'd start crowing at only 6 weeks? BTW....hes a white Silky Serama so now both of my Serama Roosters will be silkied

Damm you girl!!!! I so have to get that yoga tank now!!! My two favorite things, chickens and yoga.....

ETA: For those of you who haven't wanted to burn your eyes out today: I present to you (NSFR!) the Evil Pants Rooster......

(from Chad, lol! I still marvel at the fact that you have a....house pigeon. And house chickens. I just love you)

Thank you, pbm :clap

As for the tarp... take a pole that is taller than your run and bowl, and put the bowl upside down on the pole, then use it to hold up the tarp in the middle. That will allow you to have a peaked shelter, like a tent. You can use several poles if you need to. The bowl keeps the pole from putting a hole in the tarp.

Edited for clarity.

Calling all nurses: My 3 year old GS had emergency surgery today to remove an infection near his lymph node. It looks like the surgeon used a wet to dry dressing on the wound. I can't panic out loud as I have to be strong for DW who is a wreck. So the question is, is this as risk prone as I think? I'm kind of freeking out inside. I'm terrified of spepcis(sp).

If the surgeon is doing what I think, he's hoping that the dressing changes will remove any infection around the surgery site. I can't say anything as far as whether it may cause a sepsis issue, however if it's not changed as directed, I would say it definitely could.

Something that will help the nurses here is the wound care instructions. They will be able to tell you with a little more certainty based on the instructions they gave for his post-op care.
